K2 Panoramic Splitboard 2013

The K2 Panoramic Splitboard will open up your mind and change your concept of “what is rideable” forever. That line you’ve been drooling over for years from afar? Now you can get there. K2’s proprietary skin system with super-clean Z-Clip attachments makes transitioning and skinning a dream. Bombproof Bambooyah™ Blend construction makes sure the K2 Panoramic Splitboard stands up to the abuse of hardcore touring. Get out and do it, K2’s decades of backcountry experience, proven quality and attention to detail won’t let you down.
Flex
The K2 Panoramic Splitboard is for the rider who isn’t afraid to go off the beaten path, rides anywhere, and seeks out the steep, deep and untracked.
Shape
All Terrain Rocker® (30% Rocker / 70% Flat) makes turns effortless on hardpack but also provides superior float in softer snow and crud.
Tweekend™ tweaks the tip and tail of K2 boards by extending the rocker curvature all the way out to the ends, giving you more surface area to press, float and land on.
Hyper Progressive sidecut technology blends differing turn radii to form a sidecut that’s mellow in the tips and more aggressive in the center. This results in a super predictable feel that’s never hooky, is stable at high speeds and is smooth enough to butter.
Construction
Hybrilight™ construction features a thin, constant thickness sidewall designed for maximum performance and minimal material usage. The board is lighter, more advanced and an all-around better board.
NEW Bambooyah™ Blend is a skate-derived horizontal bamboo laminate that adds incredible strength. WH4 Core has Honeykomb™ below the wood for durability.
Triax/ICG 20 glass laminate with diagonal layers stiffen the board torsionally for improved edge hold and increased stability for off axis landings.
Carbon Web™ II is designed specifically to enhance Baseline technology and brings the pop of carbon closer to your bindings for more energy in all your riding.
Additional Features
Z-Clips utilize the holes in the ski tips, avoid having to fold the skin over, reduce weight and prevent snow buildup under the tip while skinning. Better adhesion, more security.
4000 Sintered is the fastest natural base material available. It’s exceptionally durable, absorbs more wax and retains it longer.

  • Terrain: Powder, Splitboarding
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
    Splitboarding
A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
