Product Details

Flex

A big mountain board that is stiff enough for the challenge of tackling just about anything you throw its way.

Construction and Core

Hybrilight™ Construction features a thin, constant thickness sidewall designed for maximum performance and minimal material usage. The board is lighter, more advanced and an all around better board.

Bambooyah™ Blend Core blends the incredible durability of Bambooyah™ with pure wood for a board with proven, flex, improved durability and snap.

Shape

Hyper Progressive Twin is mellow in the tips and more aggressive in the center resulting in a reliable feel that never hooks. This shape is responsive at high speeds and smooth enough to get you from peak to peak.

Designed for use throughout the mountain, the All Terrain Rocker® allows for effortless turns on hardpack but also provides ample float in softer snow and crud.

Sidewalls, Edges and Base

Traix / ICG 20

Carbon Web™ II is designed specifically to enhance Baseline technology that brings the pop and snap of carbon closer to you bindings for maximum stability in every situation.

4000 Sintered Base is fast, natural, exceptionally durable, retains wax longer and absorbs deeper.

Comments about K2 Panoramic Splitboard 2012:

I had to modify the hole configuration on my Karakoram clips to replace the factory installed Voile hooks. The Voile hooks were installed tight, but they are supposed to pivot to allow touring without transposing the splitboard sides. The voile clips are installed too far up the rockered tail and tip to allow them to work as designed. The board floats like a dream on powder, and has good traction while skinning due to the flat section between the tip and tail. This is a tradeoff so that it doesn't handle as well on groomed runs, hard-pack, wind-blown or ice. Time will tell if I will need a second board for spring skiing or not.

The flat camber allows for sliding downhill on much lower angle flat areas (think catwalks, etc.) with less effort than a cambered board.

Comments about K2 Panoramic Splitboard 2012:

I bought this on sale for cheap from Evo! It is an excellent value and rides well. The touring mode is also good.I replaced the j-hooks with Karakoram clips and use the spark R&D Burner bindings. With this setup it is light enough (for a split) for me and has a smooth ride. K2 did a good job here for the money.

Comments about K2 Panoramic Splitboard 2012:

Only a few days so far, but really stoked. Light enough for the skin up, stiff enough for the ride down, but still carves easily. The graphics are... whatever, but who cares when you're riding?
