Product Details

Flex

Great for any style or ability of rider, the K2 Happy Hour Snowboard is versatile and ready to ride anywhere on the mountain.

Shape

Flatline® (100% Flat) pioneered the flat base profile. Preloaded, stable and turn-ready, Flatline has a supremely balanced, smooth ride for both aspiring and accomplished riders.

Tweekend™ tweaks the tip and tail of K2 boards by extending the rocker curvature all the way out to the ends, giving you more surface area to press, float and land on.

Stabby Twin shape for improved lift line presence

Construction

The WH3 core uses three species of renewable wood with two strips of Honeykomb™ material between the bindings and the rails for optimal strength, reduced weight and enhanced dampening.

Triax/ICG10 glass laminate with diagonal layers stiffen the board torsionally for improved edge hold and increased stability for off axis landings.

Carbon Web™ I is designed specifically to enhance Baseline technology and brings the pop of carbon closer to your bindings for more energy in all your riding.

Additional Features

Ollie Bar™ solves your pop problems. This 100% carbon element lives in the center of the board and is molded in place, pre-loaded with camber

4000 Sintered is the fastest natural base material available. It’s exceptionally durable, absorbs more wax and retains it longer.

Comments about K2 Happy Hour Snowboard 2013:

Demoed this one on a groomer day at Mission Ridge. Found a few sidebumps and trees to run through, for which this board was good. I personally think it is a bit too stiff for jibbing, but would be good off bigger features where you'd need more pop. It was fun and fast, didn't feel like a dead salmon, the stiffness gave it a little snap. The Flatline has always been good for me and this case is no different. The pointy edge makes you feel like you could trudge through anything, but I never felt it had much difference from a normal shape. But, I never rode it through deeper snow, which is where it probably would come into play more. Just wish it was a little more buttery, but that is just how I like boards.

took this to a rail jam for my first use.
much better than my old T9 Icon.
Don't be deterred by the pointed edges, they just help in deep powder for steering and such

Comments about K2 Happy Hour Snowboard 2013:

coming from a K2 Slayblade - the HappyHour is a lot less stable at high speed and straightlining, high speed maneuvering, etc.

But aside from the speedy stuff, the happy hour does what it's sposed to - fun all around board - goes through the park nicely and prettymuch whereever you want in the mountains.

It is quite light and easy to pop with - in the park, or even through the moguls.
I found myself accidentally just jumping over stuff I didn't feel like dealing with. Pretty cool.

        Aside from the riding:
I didn't think the board needed a stomp pad - the top is nice n grippy and works fine for me.
Didn't notice any difference in riding from the pointy tip.

got this as my first board after tiring of rentals - using it with rome 390 bindings - obviously a huge upgrade over the stuff i had been using before. i'm 5'8" 170# and got the 154, with which i feel i have great control. love the unique shape to it, too - stabby tips look dope.

Comments about K2 Happy Hour Snowboard 2013:

Really like this board. Took a few hours to adjust to the feel of it, going from a 100+ day K2 WWW rocker which was a dull edged noodle.

This board is fast, holds an edge really well, ridiculous amounts of pop, flows really well.

factory edges are sharp had to be careful on rails. after a bit of a detune it should be just fine. a little stiff for presses/butters but it still has to be broken in a bit.

all in all its a crazy fun board from steep powder trees to side hits on catwalks to park.

Comments about K2 Happy Hour Snowboard 2013:

This is my go to all mountain freestyle board. It has a ton of pop when coming off jumps and rollers and can float well enough in the powder. It's by no means the best freeriding powder board out there, but it does handle itself well in the snow.
The pointed ends sometime catch on boxes if you're doing butters across them, but other than that they're not much of an issue.
Overall if you want a fun, all mountain freestyle board that does great on groomers, in the powder, and hitting jumps then this board is for you. It's not the most flexible board with a medium stiffness, and isn't that great for butters, but it's a blast to ride and I've yet to catch an edge.

I've skied most of my life, but I decided to teach myself snowboarding during a Tahoe dryspell. I've found it easy to learn on this board, although I get the feeling I'll find it a little soft as I get more aggressive with it.

I'm 6'1" 185# and I bought the 161cm model. It's been a good size so far for ripping the groomed. We'll see how it holds up in pow.

I live in the Midwest and having a board that can do it all is a must. I moved from a 157 k2 believer to the happy hour 161. It's fast and fun. Rode it in the park off some decent hits and around the mountain. I love the flatline tech boards. Great bang for the buck. Also received tons of compliments on the simple graphics of the board.

Comments about K2 Happy Hour Snowboard 2013:

Great board for all-around snowboarding. Took it for a season in the Wasatch Range in UT and was happy with the board. Improved from last year's model which had a top sheet that shattered on me, this year has a better top-sheet but still has peeled up at the pointy tips. Did not get to test in park much yet, but feels like it would be a bit stiffer than you would want for a "jib-board," probably would be great for popping off jumps. At 6'1" and 190 lbs the flex was perfect on the 161.
Only complaint, the board seemed to load up on the front end and I found myself flipping over the front a lot more than I was used to, especially in moguls/trees. Perhaps I was used to traditional camber to keep my front foot light, but I have ridden reverse camber boards that didn't want to flip me like this one does. setting back the stance a half inch helped a little bit. Learned to adopt my riding style to stay light up-front, but this is a consideration for ppl who want a true twin
The pointy tips get a lot of lift-line comments, I tell ppl their for stabbing skiers. The colors are rad too, they are more of a matte finish than a glossy one like previous happy hours
