K2 Gyrator Snowboard 2012

The K2 Gyrator Snowboard is the board that started the rocker revolution. Made for premium powder float and quick turns in the trees, the Gyrator gets it done on the days you won’t forget. New for 2012, the Gyrator ups the ante with added features like Carbon Web II™ for even more pop and lively feel in the deep stuff.
Construction and Core
Bambooyah™ Blend WH4 Core that pulls every trick out of K2’s bag of core tech. It’s engineered to maintain durability at minimal weight.
Carbon Web™ stringers bring the pop and snap of carbon closer to your bindings for maximum ollies and control in every situation.
Harshmellow™ vibration force field for dampening that maximizes fun by decreasing negative vibes, leg burn, and rough landings.
Shape
The Hyper progressive sidecut mellows out the transitions leaving you with the most predictable, best all-around riding board on the market. Responsive enough for high-speed power carves but smooth enough to butter your way from the peak to park.
Base
The Sintered Base is ultra thin, static eliminating, lightweight, lowers material usage, and the highest quality sintered base available.
Powder Rocker® Baseline still features a flat base so that while you can float through the deepest of snow, you maintain a high level of performance on groomed terrain. A stiffer nose and tail ensure stability in an otherwise maneuverable and lively package.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freeride, Powder
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat/Rocker
    Rocker/Flat/Rocker
Rocker/Flat/Rocker is another variation on the rocker theme that seeks to provide a little more hard snow edgehold and pop than full rocker while retaining ease of turning and float. Performance is between a fully rockered board and a flat board.
  • Core/Laminates: Bamboo
  • Warranty: 2 Year warranty against core breakage
