K2 Believer Snowboard 2009: This year’s K2 Believer Snowboard has a dark face and a bright base so you can move unnoticed right up until the moment you drop a huge table, or flip a 920 in the pipe. Everything about the Believer Snowboard, a K2 team creation, is light, fun and stable. From the honeycomb WH3 core to the Hybritaper tip technology, this snowboard is slimmed down and beefed up to give a lively flex on the ground and weightless feel through the air. A longer tip and tail and twin tip Hyper Progressive sidecut instill confidence that this snowboard has the stability you need to maintain every spin.

  • Hybritaper Tip Tech:Tapered tail and tip and removal of unnecessary sidewall minimizes swing weight.
  • Core:WH3 lightly honeycombed to maintain minimal weight without sacrificing strength.
  • Hyper Progressive Sidecut:A mellow transition created by coyly blending various radii from mellow tips to a more aggressive in the center, predictable, best all round riding shape around
  • Core:WH3 lightly honeycombed to maintain minimal weight without sacrificing strength.
  • 1 degree Base, Carbon Matrix I core gives the maximum K2 pop!

got a crack on the nose of my Ride dh so had to get a new board. I am happy with my decision and would definitely give my seal of approval for this board if you like all mountain riding. Good for the bowls, powder, park or back country kickers. The best part is the stability as you are bombing a less then fresh/smooth bowl.

Slightly stiffer board than I expected. Rode a lot of off piest with this board. I think I snapped a carbon rod in the nose, but did not notice other than the base was no longer flat. Then a few weeks later the nose snapped when landing a little hard on the nose.

I would look at the 2010 version which has a new design.

Comments about K2 Believer Snowboard 2009:

This is the second board I have owned. I was long overdue to replace my first snowboard, a GNU purchased in 1998. The first thing I noticed was that the Believer weighed a bit less than the GNU despite being a few cm longer (161 vs. 157). I bought this board because of the extremely positive review from the magazine, and the other positive reviews around the web. I was looking for a discounted 2009 (last years model) board that would be good for taking on both pipe and freeride.

I got three days on the board in Seattle-area resorts this year. I would describe the conditions as packed/icy on one daym icy the second, and bulletproof icy on the third. THe thing that amazed me was the responsiveness and effortlessnes of the board in the declining conditions. I was cutting through whatever came my way.

You have to see this board to appreciate how pretty it is. Best looking board on the mountain. THe 3D topsheet is p1mp (I am not supposed to use that word apparently), and the bottom reflects off the snow, its really slick.

I didn't get to go in the park on the board.

Shortly after I decided to go riding in North Carolina and didn't have the board with me. I rented a Burton Custom 160cm (not sure what year) and while I can't compare the two in the park (didn't ride beloiever there) on the trails, the Believer was worlds better than the Custom. I felt like turning was just so much easier with the sidecut of the believer vs. the custom. I know the believer is supposed to be a freestyle/all-mountain board, but I feel like it is definitely less freestyley than the Custom.

Anyhow I really recommend this board. Looks great and the ride is sweet. Can't wait to get back on it..

Yse indeed. TransWorld Snowboarding picked this board in their blind "Good Wood" board test. Voted #1 over $400.
Definitely lives up to the awards. Great board that I ride all over the mountain. Perfect flex and lots of carbon to make it responsive and add pop. I ride it everywhere. Park, groomers, powder and it's ridiculously fun in all conditions.

Comments about K2 Believer Snowboard 2009:

This K2 believer is a great well rounded board. It feels good in the park and across the whole mountain. It has a slightly deeper side cut than say the Darkstar and WWW which means quicker edge to edge action for those who like to point the board down hill. The construction of the board is light weight and and has a medium flex which is just a tad stiffer than a Ride DH but still plenty flexible, that can make presses a little tougher . The board absorbs plenty of chatter like the ride DH, which can give you a sense of well being when you rip through the crud left on the piste, whereby you can feel safe at speeds where boards with softer flexes scare you into submission speed checks. The board has plenty of pop as the carbon fiber in tip and tail can boost you higher than the 6 million dollar man. This is not a powder board so don't think you'll be floating that easily on top of the white stuff. However If its a powder day, set your bindings as far back as you can, crank your weight to the back, bone out your front leg and point the board straight down, and you'll be grinning with the best of them. This board is jack of all trades and pretty good at them all. The top sheet can chip pretty easily, but hey if you want your board to look pristine put it in a museum not on the mountain. Overall this board just feels great to ride and its a take anywhere type of stick.

Comments about K2 Believer Snowboard 2009:

I purchased this board because I joined my universities competitive snowboard and ski team. The boars rides great however I had issues with my first one. The edge popped out on the tail end and the bottom sheet started to lift up. I believe it to be a manufacture defect ad evogear and k2 took care of the problem immediately. I contacted evogear and they sent me an RMA number and they sent me the same board (or offered credit) as soon as I gave them a tracking number.

    Riding wise:
the board is great for groomed runs and packed snow.
Not too big of a fan for powder but it held up on mammoth double blacks
    great for intermediate park
    has solid pop
rides a little stuff but that might be because I haven't broken in the new board

Overall great board and good customer service from evo. Props!

Comments about K2 Believer Snowboard 2009:

This is a sick board. I just got it and I love it. The Carbon Matrix I torsion forks are amazing. I had sick pop of the jumps, but they do take a lot of time to get used too. This may be because my old board sucks and I was just not used to it. The board was also ready to ride right out of the box. The edges were fine on the rails and boxes. One other bad thing is the top sheet gets messed up easy when someone runes over it in line

Comments about K2 Believer Snowboard 2009:

The Believer is excellent board for the advanced rider who spends most of his time freeriding but makes the occasional foray into the park.

The board is smooth, aggressive and versatile.

The only con I had when testing it was that at high speeds it wasn't as stable as other boards with similar flex patterns. But this is a small drawback as I'm taking about speeds that would get your pass pulled at any ski area that wasn't specifically shut down for testing before I noticed even the slightest instability.
