Jones Solution Wide Splitboard - Blem 2012

Like a beacon of light in the dim haze of the splitboard revolution, the Jones Solution Splitboard is the world’s premier backcountry assault weapon. The pop, stability and float of this coveted all-terrain splitboard makes fantasy a reality no matter where your alpine dreams may take you. The Solution stands at the top of its class featuring inner and outer edge Magne-Traction and a directional rocker profile with traditional camber underfoot. Set back or centered, the Solution's resilient but forgiving flex pattern allows you to strap into the driver's seat and put the pedal to the floor in any terrain - steep, deep, technical or all of the above. If you question what’s around every corner of every snowy mountain range the world over, there is only one answer for the splitboard you deserve. The Solution is the solution. Note: This is a factory blem board and may have slight cosmetic damage.
Rocker Type
Directional Rocker - This hybrid directional rocker/camber flex pattern is defined by more tip rocker than tail rocker and slight camber between the bindings. The rockered tip gives the nose added float and improved maneuverability while the camber underfoot gives you added edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but allows for catch-free turn initiation and easy switch landings.
Flex
The Mountain Twin kills it all over the mountain thanks to its softer tip and tail and camber underfoot that offers the hold riders desire.
Carbon Stringers are added to improve pop and torsional stiffness and increase the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day 1.
Shape
Blunt Nose gives you float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length and swing weight.
Core
FSC Approved Full Wood Core - The wood comes from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of all generations. The core is a full poplar and beech wood core that offers a solid snap.
Base
Sintered Base is made of the fastest natural base material available. The base is durable, absorbs wax faster and retains wax longer.
Flip Flop base means that base graphic colors are flip flopped, drastically reducing P-Tex waste and increasing the material yield. Base color will vary from board to board and may not reflect what is seen in the image featured.
Edges
Mellow Magne-Traction - This improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of the board. A key ingredient for rockered boards, Magne-Traction allows it to glide more smoothly.
Topsheet
Film Topsheet replaces the traditional plastic topsheet, eliminating plastic and reducing the weight of the board.
Additional Features
Blem Board - This is a factory blem board that may have slight cosmetic damage.

Specs

  • Terrain: Splitboarding
    Splitboarding
A splitboard snowboard is built specifically for the backcountry rider. Splitboards are designed to break down into two separate halves for touring and uphill travel (with climbing skins). Special bindings are required as well. Once you've reached the top of the terrain feature, you reconnect your splitboard for the ride back downhill. However, it's important to note that you will need appropriate backcountry tools, knowledge of the backcountry, weather and snow conditions and climbing skins to safely take advantage of the freedom of a splitboard.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker shapes seek to give you both hard-carving edgehold on firm snow from camber underfoot with enhanced turnability and float in powder from the rockered tip and tail. This profile is increasingly popular for freeride boards designed primarily for soft snow.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
