Product Info

Freestyle spirit with a freeride heart, the Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard is designed to turn the entire mountain into your own personal park. The Mountain Twin features an early rise rocker in the tip and tail for supreme float when conditions get biblical, while staying true to the traditional camber underfoot paired with Mellow Magne-Traction edges to give you snap and hold on the hard packed. Take it to air with the playful yet powerful flex due to the strategically placed Carbon Stringers to give you that extra boost when it counts. Float, fly or cruise on the legendary Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard.

Product Details

Rocker Type

CamrockA unique rocker/camber flex pattern defined by evenly balanced tip and tail rocker and slight camber between the bindings. CAMROCK improves freestyle finesse by keeping your tips playful while maintaining the power and pop of camber underfoot.

Shape

Blunt Nose"How a board glides in powder, crust, corn, or any snow condition more then an inch deep is dictated by its front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight." -Jeremy Jones.

Core

FSC® Wood CoreThe FSC® wood cores come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. ALL Jones Snowboard Cores are FSC®.

Hard Core (Poplar / Beech)Jones' signature core, the Hard Core, is a hybrid wood core designed for the ultimate pop, power transfer and durability. Featherweight Poplar stringers in the middle of the core are framed with bulletproof Beech stringers under the edges to produce a core that combines the snappy, even flex of Poplar with the damp responsive benefits of Beech. Framing the sides of the core in the Beech Hardwood creates unparalleled energy transfer to your edge and helps protect the board from harsh side impacts.

Laminates

TriaxThis lightweight, multi axis stitched fiberglass laminate provides torsional stiffness, pop and response for a precise controlled ride in a multitude of terrain and snow conditions.

Carbon StringersCarbon stringers are added to select models to improve pop and torsional stiffness and increase the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day one - precise and playful.

Base

Sintered BaseFastest natural base material available. Durable, absorbs wax faster and retains wax longer.

Flip Flop BaseBy flip flopping the base graphic colors, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.

Edges

Mellow Magne-Traction™Maximizes your edge hold between your feet so you have better control and stability even on the iciest slopes. Magne-Traction™ varies in the serration depending on the board; regardless it will deliver a catch-free ride any day. "Magne-Traction™ is a key ingredient for rockered board designs. Adding rocker to your board makes it glide more smoothly, but it makes it harder to really lock into your turns and hold a solid edge. Magne-Traction™ is crucial to offset the drift typical of rocker flex patterns." - Jeremy Jones.

Stronger EdgesJones added 35% more steel than a typical edge. What this achieves is a 250% increase in impact resistance compared to other edges offered on the market today.

Topsheet

Film TopsheetA thin piece of film replaces the traditional plastic topsheet. This eliminates plastic and reduces the weight of the board.

Comments about Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard 2014:

OK.. I'm no pro or board expert but this is an amazing board. I've been riding K2 Turbo Dream for 5 seasons and was looking to upgrade to new TD. I read reports and it looked like they made it more powder specific than bfore.. so I bought, after much research, Jones MT. yeah, there's a lot of hype etc but here's what I like: For the first time I feel like I'm learning to become a better boarder. The TD was fun and playful but I've realized that it's not going to take me to the next level, it was a little too washy, especially east coast riding.. great in powder (even a couple of inches). A few runs on my Jones MT and I felt like I was carving a little better and not scared to pick up some speed.. which is something I've been looking to do more. I can't wait to take it out again. Super stoked with purchase. I'm 5'10, 185lbs and I got the 160.. perfect for bombing groomers.

Comments about Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard 2014:

I am 6' 1" 180lbs and bought a 158w. I absolutely love this board. Went on spring break and rode it 7 out of my 9 days off. got a 2 ft storm in the middle of the week and this board handles the powder like a champ. I went from hard pack one day to moguls to powder glades no problem on this board. I Even took a trip into the backcountry in my local mountains of NH and the lightness of the board made it easier to carry than my old board. Handle the mountains with ease as well. I work at a ski resort and get many comments each time i take it out. Highly recommend this board to anyone interested.

Comments about Jones Mountain Twin Snowboard 2014:

Got the Mountain Twin about a month ago. I live in Michigan where the conditions change constantly. This board performs well in all conditions and just loves to fly. I feel like I am hovering down the runs.

Just got back from my trip from Colorado and I must say this is the best all around board to take on a trip. Like I said it flys and surprisingly has great pop for a stiffer board. It is directional so I don't know why they call it a mountain twin but it still rides perfectly fine switch. Carving is a dream with the camber between your feet. Powder is very smooth as well with the rocker outside your feet.

If you are debating on getting this board stop and just get it. You will be happy you did.
