When your day job consists of flying fighter jets and racing cars, then you're going to want a board that can match your need for speed. The Jones Aviator Snowboard is a high-performance directional freestyle board built for speed and flight. The Aviator features a 3D Power Camber profile that provides the insane edge response of camber without the usual hang-ups. From the contact points of the camber to the end of the board, the base is beveled up 2 degrees at the edges providing a looser, less-catchy feel. Go from dropping cliffs, getting airborne on park jumps, and flying down killer lines with style and confidence all on the Jones Aviator Snowboard.
Rocker Type
3D Power Camber - An innovative traditional camber profile tweaked to offer the insane edge response of camber without the usual hang-ups. The board profile crosses over into the third dimension as the base is beveled up 2 degrees at the edges from the contact points of the camber to the ends of the board. The base beveling releases the edges where they like to hook which balances the pop and directional stability of camber with a looser, less-catchy feel.

Shape
Blunt Nose - "How a board glides in powder, crust, corn, or any snow condition more then an inch deep is dictated by its front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer board tip without the added length or swing weight." -Jeremy Jones.
Core
FSC® Wood Core - The FSC® wood cores come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. ALL Jones Snowboard Cores are FSC®.
Hard Core (Poplar / Beech) - Jones' signature core, the Hard Core, is a hybrid wood core designed for the ultimate pop, power transfer and durability. Featherweight Poplar stringers in the middle of the core are framed with bulletproof Beech stringers under the edges to produce a core that combines the snappy, even flex of Poplar with the damp responsive benefits of Beech. Framing the sides of the core in the Beech Hardwood creates unparalleled energy transfer to your edge and helps protect the board from harsh side impacts.
Laminates
Triax - This lightweight, multi axis, stitched fiberglass laminate provides torsional stiffness, pop and response for precise controlled riding in a multitude of terrain and snow conditions.
Carbon Stringers - Carbon stringers are added to select models to improve pop and torsional stiffness and increase the longevity of the flex profile. This lightweight layer helps the board perform the same on day 100 as it did on day one - precise and playful.
Base
Flip Flop Base - By flip flopping the base graphic colors, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.
Stone Ground Finish - Adds texture to the base and helps to displace water, which makes your snowboard ride faster.
Sintered Base - Fastest natural base material available. Durable, absorbs wax faster and retains wax longer.
Edges
Mellow Magne-Traction - Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Magne-Traction improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of the board. "Magne-Traction is a key ingredient for rockered board designs. Adding rocker to your board makes it glide more smoothly, but it makes it harder to really lock into your turns and hold a solid edge. Magne-Traction is crucial to offset the drift typical of rocker flex patterns." - Jeremy Jones
Stronger Edges - Jones added 35% more steel than a typical edge. What this achieves is a 250% increase in impact resistance compared to other edges offered on the market today.
Topsheet
Film Topsheet - A thin piece of film replaces the traditional plastic topsheet. This eliminates plastic and reduces the weight of the board.
Binding Compatibility
Jones Snowboards will accommodate 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.
  • Shape: Directional Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
