GNU

Handbuilt by snowboarders with actual jobs at Mervin MFG. using eco woods and environmentally friendly construction techniques, the GNU Pickle PBTX Snowboard is as green as pickles get. Get the banana in between your feet and enjoy a poppy camber/ rocker/ camber board with asymmetrical balance. *Note: This is a factory blem board and may have slight cosmetic damage.*
Rocker Type
BTX Fun Easy All Terrain Rocker - Rocker between your feet combined with flat to mild cambers out to the contact. Easy riding and turning, great jibbing and epic float in pow.
Flex
Flex Rating - 5.5 - 6.5 depending on size
Shape
Twin Asym Freestyle - Also in wides!
Pickle Tech - Look at your toes. Now look at your heels. Hmm, they look different. Weird? Different sidecuts and construction to balance the different turning mechanics required for heelside and toeside turns let you ride better and have more balanced fun through asymmetry.
Core
Asym AP1 - Aspen, Palonia
Sidewalls
Fast, rugged UHMW sidewalls
Base
Sintered Base - Compression hardened amorphous UHMW skived from the billet to create the toughest, fastest, best wax holding base material around. This base slides best and fastest when waxed regularly to match local snow conditions.
Die-cut Base - Base color displayed may not be available. Base colors may vary.
Edges
Magne-Traction - Serrated edges give great edgehold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and blue ice!
Topsheet
Co Ex Top - Polyester topsheet material
Graphics
This graphic was a happening between two visual experimenters: Matt French and Gnu Art Director Tim Karpinski. Collaborating back and forth from different states of mind they settled on this whirlygig.

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
