GNU Forest's Space Case EC2PBTX Snowboard 2014

This is weirdo Forest Bailey's mind-melting concoction of asymmetrical freestyle and banana performance camber. The GNU Forest's Space Case EC2PBTX Snowboard balances nature's bio-mechanical curiosities by including shorter heelside contact, deeper heelside sidecut, and asymmetrical contact angles and shape, as well as asymmetric core materials and flex. All this weird science has a purpose and serves a point (like the point on this board, get it?).
Rocker Type
EC2 PBTX - The perfect quiver killer filler, the EC2 PBTX shape rides halfway between Banana Tech and C2. It effortlessly floats the pow, slaps the jibs and has the pop and tip-to-tail stability to totally stomp whatever you launch. Banana Rocker between your feet, elliptical camber at the tips and tails. Only eat the freshest bananas.

Flex
Flex Rating - 5.5 - 6.5 depending on size
Shape
Twin Asymmetrical Symmetric Syncronization Freestyle Shape and Geometries - Your body is asymmetric heel to toe and your board should be too. This board is designed to work with your body’s natural asymmetries…balancing your toe and heelside and playing to the strengths of each side's mechanics to enhance control and performance.
Core
Asym AP1 - Aspen, Palonia
Sidewalls
Fast, rugged UHMW sidewalls
Base
Sintered Base - Compression hardened amorphous UHMW skived from the billet to create the toughest, fastest, best wax holding base material around. This base slides best and fastest when waxed regularly to match local snow conditions.
Edges
Magne-Traction - Serrated edges give great edgehold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and blue ice!
Topsheet
Co Ex Top - Polyester topsheet material

  • Terrain: Freestyle
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Shape: True Twin
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
