To take on the big mountains, any old snowboard deck won't suffice. You need a beast. The GNU Beast DC3 BTX Snowboard is an aggressive and directional deck that remains stable on the steepest descents. There is a slight rocker between the feet to free up your turning ability but is mostly a dominant camber that tucks into the snow with power to spare. Magne-Traction .5 is a slighty mellower version that allows more freedom in your turns. Built with a 2.5" stance setback, the Beast will stay on top of powder effortlessly, providing an excellent platform for backcountry and powder riding.

DC3BTX – Directional aggressive dominant cambers out to the contacts combined with mild rocker between your feet. Subtle Banana rocker gives freestyle freedom with maximum end to end stability for big, high speed lines. For Aggressive skilled riders.

Flex Rating: 7 – Freeriding tuned flex for big mountain powder slashing domination.
Shape
Directional – A directional snowboard is the best for turning and charging. Going one direction at a time, you like to keep it core and go ride some pow or big mountain obstacles. Directionals are designed with a flexible/‘softer’ nose and a stiff tail. Basically, this is turning, pow riding machine that wants to go fast.

Sidewalls
UHMW External Sidewalls – Ultra High Molecular Weight exterior sidewalls made from soy-based elastomer are laminated to five internal wood layers for totally bombproof sidewalls.

All-Mountain All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice. Freeride Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction. Powder Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.

Stiff The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
