CAPiTA The Black Snowboard Of Death Snowboard 2014

Back again, the CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death is ready to be your one-quiver all-mountain complete destruction snowboard of total awesomeness. Stacked with loads of different technology such as an aggressive Hybrid Reverse Camber and the revolutionary Flat Kick Technology make this snowboard the ultimate all-mountain tool. A medium flex range gives this board the playfulness you need for epic days in deep snow or those dreaded days on the groomers. Additional features include a durable and ultra-dampening Hover Core™ that allows you to have maximum powder floating ability for long days of snowboarding fun. Bring harsh, righteously-justified death to all your mountainside enemies with a board that knows no defeat.
Rocker Type
Mountain FK - The all-new Mountain FK design features the same mid body camber and flat tail used in Hybrid FK boards and adds in the reverse cambered nose of the Freeride FK. This allows for tons of pop and stability on the hard pack while increasing float and landing power, improving the rider's performance in deep snow.

Flat Kick Technology - With Flat Kick design technology CAPiTA has tightened the profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height. This is a key area that influences the tempo and feel of turn initiation. With traditional larger tip and tail arcs, the loaded camber contributes to a board's acceleration into a turn. On reverse camber boards the contact points are elevated, removing this camber contribution. As a result, the same traditional tip and tail radii would make the board feel sluggish. Specialized Flat Kick tip and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and quick during edge-to-edge transitions.
Flex
6 Flex - On a scale from 1 to 10, this board is a 6, making it perfect for when you need something stable in the rough and something playful in the park.
Shape
Tapered Tail - 5 mm of taper in the tail sinks the tail in deep snow and allows the nose to float. It's proven to reduce tomahawks by 38%.
Sidecut
Blended radial - Blended radial sidecuts feature a single radius arc though the midsection of the board combined with a custom blend zone at the contact points. Varying the length of these blend zones and tailoring them specifically for certain aspects of riding greatly improves the board's performance.

Core
Hover Core™ - Designed using some of the strongest materials available, the HOVER Core™ is so light it essentially floats across the snow.Thin cut FSC certified wood core strips are combined with a Flax fiber composite webbing to create a unique ply configuration. The result is an energetic core that is extremely light and strong with excellent dampening properties.
Laminates
Custom Weave - The CUSTOM WEAVE configuration features a resin/glass application borrowed from the marine industry, which yields much stronger and rigid qualities allowing the board to have decreased wood core thickness. The main focus is to save wood core weight by increasing resin performance. The biaxial/triaxial fiberglass combination creates more response while increasing strength and durability.
Sidewalls
Full ABS sidewalls with silk-screened graphics.
Base
Wax infused rotation sintered base - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and are consistently the predominate first choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.
Edges
360 degree steel edges
Topsheet
PLT topsheet technology
Double penetration silkscreen technology
Metallic accents
Additional Features
Pre-cured Carbon Boosters - These 30 mm carbon stringers are strategically pre-cured into an arched shape that counters the board's comber profile. This cross-configuration multiples the energy when the board is flexed and creates a board with twice the ollie power and response than a board with standard carbon additives.
Binding Compatibility
4x2 Inserts

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freeride, Powder
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker shapes seek to give you both hard-carving edgehold on firm snow from camber underfoot with enhanced turnability and float in powder from the rockered tip and tail. This profile is increasingly popular for freeride boards designed primarily for soft snow.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
