CAPiTA NAS Wide Snowboard 2013

Everybody knows the classics are great: Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles are just plain timeless. With so many variations of camber on the market these days, it's as nice to be able to embrace the classic full camber profile as it is to pop in Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon and just chill. The CAPiTA Normal Ass Wide Snowboard encompasses the idea that nothin' beats the classics and uses a full camber profile. This gives the board a powerful, stable and predictable feel that flat out stampedes down the mountain. You don't need all the over-hyped rocker theories to have a good time; all you need is CAPiTA NAS Wide Snowboard.
Rocker Type
Traditional Camber - Tried and true, traditional camber elongates your effective edge and provides more power in your nose and tail. Boards pop harder and have more high speed turning stability with this design.

Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 7, perfect for freestyle riding and all-mountain riding
Sidecut
Progressive - A true progressive sidecut consisting of two or more radii blended together to accommodate the three stages of a turn. This provides easy turn initiation, while offering greater control and stability throughout the turn and maximum power when exiting.
Core
SS Select Core - Engineered for "anytime, anywhere" performance reliability, the SS Select provides a perfect balance between energy, stability and pop. Vertically laminated poplar is lightweight and has a long grain orientation. There are no irregularities allowing for consistent uniform flex throughout the deck.
Laminates
Form 6-K - This glass configuration consists of 612 gram/meters-squared biaxial fiberglass placed on both the base and topside of the core at 0˚ and 90˚ angles. This configuration results in a board that initiates turns easily, while retaining the pop necessary to handle variable conditions. The Form 6-K laminate system is laid up wet by hand during the lamination process. This also features carbon kevlar stringers to further increase ollie power and response.
Base
HMC Extruded - A low maintenance, user-friendly base that preforms well with or without constant waxing and attention: the HMC is a special "high molecular concept" base that is denser, more durable, and more abrasion resistant than standard extruded bases. The result is a hard, fast and reliable base that will get you where you want to go fast.
Edges
360˚ Steel Edge
Topsheet
PLT Topsheet
Binding Compatibility
2 x 4 Mounting Inserts - Gives the rider more mounting options

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
