CAPiTA Charlie Slasher FK Snowboard 2013

A common mistake most companies make while designing a powder specific board is to carry the rocker profile throughout the entire board, forcing you to work harder to keep your body weight properly distributed. Luckily for you, the CAPiTA Charlie Slasher FK Snowboard has not made this mistake! Having a rockered nose blend into a flat profile that carries throughout the tail allows you to conserve your energy, and transform those incredibly tiring powder days into incredible, epic pow days. An RFC Sustainable Core ensures you get a uniform flex pattern due to the poplar wood that contains no irregularities. For a board that will rip up the deepest powder bowls, check out the CAPiTA Charlie Slasher FK Snowboard.
Rocker Type
POW FK - Mono reverse camber FK for powder allows your nose to float above the snowline, while retaining power throughout the tail to stomp landings and slash the hell out of everything.
Flat Kick - Specialized Flat Kick tip and tail arcs combined with elevated reverse camber contact points achieve the ideal tempo into turns. This allows you to have the shorter effective edge of a forgiving, easy to ride, reverse camber snowboard that is still responsive and gives quick edge to edge transfer.
Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 6, perfect for powder and all-mountain riding
Sidecut
Radial Taper - Engineered specifically for deep powder riding, this radial sidecut is complemented by a tapered tail. This narrower tail section naturally sinks in the powder while a wider nose section floats above the snow line. The result is less work and more fun as the board surfs on one smooth continual arc.
Core
RFC Sustainable Core - The original eco-friendly core offers a sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected from a CAPiTA core. Made from poplar wood, that is 100% sustainable, containing no irregularities which allows for an enhanced response and uniform flex pattern.
Laminates
Form 6-C - Consisting of 612 grams/meter-squared biaxial fiberglass laminated with the Special Blend Evo Tech resin to increase energy and durability, this progressive glass configuration is laid up wet by hand during the lamination process. Also featuring 30 mm carbon fiber beams to strengthen the nose area of the board's unique shape in order to power through deep powder.
Base
Wax Infused Rotation Sintered Base - These bases are created by taking pellets of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The minuscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable, and the overwhelming choice of pro snowboarders worldwide.

Specs

  • Terrain: Freeride, Powder
    Freeride
Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
    Powder
Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Flat
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
