Comments about CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death Limited Edition Snowboard 2012:

Usually I go towards noodle boards. I like buttering around the park, but this year I figured why not mix it up. One can't only eat pizza. Bad example, but you get the point.

So, at first I was unsure when I took this out - it was going to be a much stiffer board than I am used to, but just like my first experience with guacamole, I decided I wouldn't like it without every trying. Alright food examples stop right, now.

Not as stiff in the tip in tail as I thought and once my chicken legs manned up I really started to warm up to this board. Much as I imagine a giraffe feels when it meets a lion - scared, wary at first but once they realize the lion is all talk they quickly become best of friends.

Whether it was cruising choppy groomers or finding deeper sidecountry stuff this boards has ripped. I can't boast full powder days as of yet - La Nina has been shy so far- but the camber underfoot was super responsive when cruising and the rocker helps for playfulness in the powder.

Finally, one can't deny the method potential on this guy. Just try and not fixate all day on getting a sweet boned out grab pic, that profile pic will be the talk of, well, probably just you. But still you'll be proud and girls will think you are dangerous. Because of the skull of course.

Awesome board, I love it. Great at high speed. I didn't catch any edges like my old camber board did. It controls great, I prefer this over the Rocker boards. Graphics are cool, makes me proud to go on a chair lift to have people look up and see the skull on the bottom.

Comments about CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death Limited Edition Snowboard 2012:

I'm a 5'6" 140lb aggressive all mountain rider. Not into park riding. I ride with stiff boots and bindings on this board. I've ridden this board on big mountain hard-pack groomers and powder, on moguls and steeps, and in the trees. This is an excellent all mountain board, especially for the price. I was a bit skeptical before purchasing it, because I've owned some sweet, but pricey, boards. I bought it based on extensive comparison of board reviews. I'm glad I did. I'm particularly pleased with the great edge hold on the hard pack while making aggressive carves at speed, and the balance between its light weight and ability to ride through chop at speed without feeling like I'm on the verge of disaster. :-) The one question mark is the durability of the board. I partially landed on a boulder while riding some steeps and it dented in and seriously scraped the edge while pushing part of the base on top of the base that remained in place. The damage was repairable. I feel like my other boards may have fared better under the circumstances, but maybe it was just a flukey thing. Bottom line: I'd get this board again for my style of riding.

Comments about CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death Limited Edition Snowboard 2012:

To be honest, this is my first board with rocker...and I loved it. This board has great pop for a board with rocker but still has good stiffness. turn initiation was not an issue, however it is a directional board so riding it switch was a little bit difficult but still very do-able. Two words..DEATH GRIP, this feature is incredible. the edge hold on this board is crazy. Some of the worst ice ive ever hit and the board didnt even budge. The sintered base is super fast but I noticed a few dings and nicks after a few typical groomers, not sure if they were from hidden rocks or the lockers but they can always be fixed. Overall on a scale of 1-10 i would have to give this board a 7. killer graphics and quality that is second to none. this board was given to me as a gift so thanks santa!

Comments about CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death Limited Edition Snowboard 2012:

Everything is dialed perfect on this board for your all mountain riding pleasure. I think CAPiTA hit the sweet spot with their "Freeride FK" shape, Rocker>Camber<Rocker. I've now tried traditional camber boards, rocker boards and now you're seeing a lot of combination of the two. I've felt that Rocker is great for powder, unfortunately you can't always ride powder all day everyday. This board allows for a great ride in all types of conditions and all types of sufaces. You also gotta dig the limited edish colorways. This is a must have for your quiver.

I rode 162 Black Death during the 11/12 winter and was surprised at how versatile the board is. The thing is really stable at speed. Amazingly stable. It is also super light. Paired with a pair if Union Atlas binders this setup was the lightest I have ever ridden. If you look at the whole mountain as a park and consider speed your ally, this board is for you.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't had the chance to actually ride it yet, but I have high hopes/expectations. It's a stiff board with some early rise rocker. Pretty cool graphics to boot. Can't wait to get it on snow. Just need a little more to stack up before committing to running it. I am curious to see how the single bumped edge works out. Always been a little skeptical of non-traditional sidecut boards. Not sold yet on the ____traction phase we're in. Could be rad though. Looking forward to finding out.

The first thing I noticed out of the box was how light this board is. For sure, the lightest board I have ever owned. It's a stiffer board so it is good for all mountain riding. I went with a little bigger board (162) so this is the perfect board for those sick pow days and it is more stable at high speeds. I love the hybrid camber it is really fun an d catch free. Overall this is a sick board, it also got Goodwood of the year 2013.

This board delivers. I am much more confident on the blacks, due to the smooth edge to edge transition (my Rome SDS Headline '12 seems to catch slightly on occassion in transition, that is not the case with this board even though it is 5CM longer), stability at speed, and edge hold on ice. Awesome.

After debating on Capita I decided to take the [$] dollar plunge. In no way do I regret doing so either. Flat out, this board is the funnest I have ridden in 10 seasons. I have ridden Burton, Rome, Libtech, Option, GNU, etc. I have had fun boards but never like this. This board does it all, believe the hype. I am a guy who reviews everything before purchasing and this was no different. A lot of hype around this board but it holds true. I went in riding it day one unbiased. If it was a crud board or didn't meet all the hype I would be totally honest.By now you get the picture. I teamed this up with Union Atlas binders and it is one sexy combination. If you are reading this to make sure you are going to get a great board....well just know you are! A+++

Comments about CAPiTA The Black Snowboard of Death Limited Edition Snowboard 2012:

After riding the 03 Black Snowboard of Death years ago I was opened to a whole new world of snowboarding. I demoed the Black Death Speed Tribe in 08 and tried a few other companies, but none came close to the original BSOD. When the 10th year anniversary BSOD was introduced last year I had to check it out. Needless to say the 10th year anniversary upgrades have surpassed my expectations. Camber under the foot allows for superior pop and extra hold while carving. The flat-kick helps float the pow, but it doesn't chatter out through crud or while cruising the corduroy. The new death-grip, which is an extra contact point in the center, allows you to turn on anything and the reduced weight makes you feel like your floating down the hill. Riding in Colorado this has been the best all around tool anyone could ask for. If you are looking for an all mountain missile you should buy this board.
