Burton Sherlock Rocker Snowboard 2011: Over the next ridge, tucked between two chutes you’ll find it-a terrain anomaly that perfectly sends you, no shovel required. Set it down, keep your speed, slash that wave, then tuck into the trees in search of log slides and pillows. If this is your “park”, then the new Burton Sherlock Rocker Snowboard Rocker Snowboard is your board. Combining the best of rocker and camber, freestyle and freeride, it’s a shock absorbing, all-natural jib and jump machine that floats like a dream.
Flex
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft-10 Stiff) Take flight with V-Rocker’s next evolution. A premium blend of camber and rocker performance, Flying V™ offers the best of both worlds. Rocker overall, including between and outside your feet, enhances playfulness and float through pow. Underneath your feet, subtle camber zones combines with Frostbite Edges, EGD, and The Channel to focus edge-control for crisp snap, added pop, and power through turns. Directional flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control and flow through all terrain and conditions.
Construction and Core
Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core with the Super Fly II Core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Further optimized for float in freeride focused boards, and strength in park boards.
Shape
The tapered tip and tail thickness of Pro-Tip reduces swing weight for easier mobility and float. The twin-like shape gives you the freestyle feel of a twin slightly tweaked to provide improved float and control through variable terrain and conditions.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
The Carbon I Beam backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap. Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining ever forgiving in softer conditions. With Dualzone EGD, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength. Triax fiberglass offers versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred. The sintered base is durable and highly porous which offers added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide. 10:45 Sidewalls are extra meaty with dual angle geometry that results in bomber impact absorption.
Other Features
Don’t toss your old bindings. The New Channel M6 uses a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use, and allows for compatibility with all Burton bindings as well as bindings from select competitors. The included M6 Transition Kit contains everything needed to ride pre-2011 Burton disc and EST bindings with the latest generation of The Channel. The Kit includes two retro discs for compatibility with Burton disc bindings as well as a full set of the M6 Transition hardware for compatibility with both Burton disc and EST bindings.

Comments about Burton Sherlock Rocker Snowboard 2011:

Demoed this board in the spring and loved it immediately. Took no time to adapt despite being a bit wide-waisted for my feet (wmns 8). Easy to make quick, tight turns AND hold a solid line in longer turns thanks to the 'Side Effects'. No, it is not a gimmick; yes, you will notice a difference. Other non-trad camber boards I've tried: Gnu B-nice (Banana), Nitro Subpop (Gullwing), Never Summer SL- and Evo-R. First two were fun but felt very limiting; NS just felt like a dead plank. (I love their regular cambered boards, so quite disappointing.) The Sherlock is seriously the most fun board I've ever ridden. It's truly a do-everything board thanks to the hybrid camber. Nice float in pow, easy to ollie yet still able to make poppy, dynamic carves. Be forewarned, however, that it doesn't particularly excel at any single thing. Not the best at high speed, not totally effortless in pow, (can't attest to pure park ability), but an absolute quiver-killer.

    Rocker can pop!

Comments about Burton Sherlock Rocker Snowboard 2011:

I was surprised with how fun this board was. It took a minute to get used to the contact point but after a couple runs I had a blast! Where I was really impressed was in the pop. The camber under the feet gave it a little more snap. It felt similar to ollieing a skate board! The board was also damp and soked up the shimmys and shakes. The graphics on it are pretty rad too!
