Burton Method Snowboard 2012

The top of Burton’s line for 2012, the Burton Method Snowboard is designed with incredible aerospace materials and untouchable technology to give you the very best snowboarding experience possible. The Flying V™ fuses rocker and camber for high-end precision and UltraMeth™ construction with the Ultrafly core that makes for the most functional, lightweight and durable board out there. Harnessing the best of everything, the Burton Method Snowboard will take you further than you ever imagined.
Flex
Flex rating: 5 (1 soft -10 stiff)
Medium flex means the Burton Method has a great amount of flex and response but without being too stiff.
Twin flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile regular or switch, frontside or backside.
Construction and Core
UltraMeth™ Construction blends unconventional design with the latest in aerospace technology for a board that has the highest degree of functionality, weight-saving features and performance.
NEW Ultrafly core is the lightest engineered core with revolutionary strength to weight and performance. Multizone EGD™ grain direction puts the wood in four separate zones, perpendicular to the core and adjacent to the channel for ultimate strength and edge control.
S2 Methodskin fiberglass with Carbon I-Beam™ results in envelope-pushing performance and increased strength in the lightest composite matrix to date.
The M6 Channel focuses power through a central connection that acts as a backbone for the board’s internal tech and allows you to micro-adjust your stance width and angles with all binding formats.
Infinite Ride™ assure the board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from day one and for years to come.
Shape
Flying V™ is a spring-loaded blend of camber and rocker performance - rocker overall for wonderful playfulness and float through pow but with subtle camber zones underneath for focused edge-control and power.
Directional Shape is the most versatile snowboard shape, designed with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow and control.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Slimrail sidewall is a streamlined, ultra-minimized sidewall design that shaves weight without sacrificing edge-hold or strength.
Methlon base, Teflon®, creates amazing highly durable and low-maintenance speed.
Stainless Frostbite Edges beneath bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions.
Pro-Tip™ tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Camber/Rocker/Camber
    Camber/Rocker/Camber
Camber/Rocker/Camber is a profile that’s specific to snowboards and which works because the rider’s weight flattens the two cambered areas. This design produces a strong, pressured carving zone between the rider’s feet and retains pop and carving precision at the tip and tail.
  • Flex Rating: Soft
    Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
