Comments about Burton Jussi Channel Snowboard 2010:

I got the Jussi 159 toward the end of the 09/10 season and rode it five times before the end of the year. It was replacing a Custom 158 as an all-around board.

Not surprisingly, the Jussi feels substantially stiffer than the Custom the whole length of the board. The Jussi is fast, holds an edge well on hardpack and ice (if you're not detuning it), and it looks amazing. It feels great off jumps. It doesn't feel quite so good jibbing but then again it's not intended for that. It's passable for me as I have another board intended for the park. It feels very stable at speed and cutting through any crud on the groomers. I took it out for one powder day and it was just... OK. I like the feel of my V rocker in powder much better. I like the board, but overall the Jussi is not nearly as lively as what I'm used to - if I want any pop out of the tip or tail I have to think ahead and load up more than usual. I still have a hard time with butters on this board. I think it's a result of the stiffness in the tip and tail. The scoop feature is cool and definitely helps but it doesn't overcome the stiffness for me. But then again I could still be getting used to it.

On my fifth day out I cracked the Jussi. It wasn't a quality issue and it was a situation in which just about anything would have cracked, so I don't question the board's durability. Burton's generally very good with warranties too, so I'm hoping they hook me up when I get around to sending it in.

Overall, the Jussi is a good all-around ride for someone who likes a stable, solid feel to their board. I would recommend it to someone heavier who wants to run a shorter board. And the graphics are my favorite ever - if Burton doesn't warranty it, I want it back so I can hang it on the wall!
