Burton Feather Mid Wide Snowboard - Women's 2013

Tired of flailing your way down the mountain and feeling about as graceful as a sack of potatoes? Lighten up with the Burton Feather Mid Wide Snowboard. This board is laid-back and relaxed from tip to tail and combines the rocker float of EZ V with Cruise Control to lift the edges and soften the flex. The Feather's tapered shape adds float and makes turning effortless for improved riding all day long; the twin flex makes it equally fun no matter which way you point it.
Rocker Type
V-Rocker - Continuous rocker between your feet and in front of your feet towards the tip and tail creates catch-free playfulness and improved float from peak to park.
Flex
Flex Rating: 2 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - Soft flex for freestyle forgiveness, powder floatation and catch-free tricks
Twin - The flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that's equally versatile regular or switch.
Sidecut
Directional with Taper - Designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop while allowing the tip to rise and tail to drop slightly in deep snow
Core
Women's Specific True Flex Fly® Core - True Flex sets the new standard in women's hardgoods by optimizing board design to match the geometry and finesse of female riders. Torsional softness underfoot transitions to stabilizing zones between and outside your feet. The result is improved stability, effortless edge control, and energized pop in the tip and tail.
Laminates
Biax™ Fiberglass - Features a jib-friendly, low-torsional flex and forgiving, park-friendly feel
Base
Extruded Base - Durable and low maintenance; 40% recycled content
Edges
Cruise Control Edge Tune - This catch-free edge tune combines with rocker to help your progression and make good riders even better.
Graphics
Diecut Base Color - Combinations may vary
Artist - Sophie Kern
Additional Features
Double Chair Package - Burton begins where many other companies consider the top of the line. A great place to start, you'll be riding the same boards as some of the best riders out there.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker
    Rocker
A rocker board side profile is the opposite of a camber board, with a smooth downward curvature to it and less edge contact length when the board is weighted. Rocker boards float well in powder and pivot more easily underfoot. They also tend to be less “hooky” at both tip and tail and better for landing spin maneuvers when you don’t quite have enough rotation.
  • Flex Rating: Soft
    Soft
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
