Product Details

Rocker Type

Flat TopBurton's Flat Top snowboards are flat underfoot and a little beyond the bindings. This profile gives you ample stability underfoot, better balance and constant edge control. The tip and tail kick up slightly with an early rise outside of the feet so you gain that catch-free ride.

Flex

Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft - 10 Very Stiff)A medium flex for easy turn initiation and forgiving landings

Twin FlexHaving a twin flex indicates that your board is perfectly symmetrical in flexibility from tip to tail so you gain a more balanced and predictable ride.

Infinite Ride™This Burton-exclusive technology allows for maximized pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

Shape

TwinThe shape is perfectly symmetrical for a balanced ride that's equally versatile when ridden regular or switch. Jib, spin, stomp, and butter with a greater balance of freestyle mobility and cat-like stability no matter which way you point it.

Side EffectsLengthening the surface area at the tip and tail contact points improves edge-hold and allows the board to plane easier in powder. Enjoy a livelier feel and enhanced grip on groomers along with added float for overhead days.

Pro-Tip™A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

Core

Super Fly II™ CoreDesigned to target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight, this core is further optimized for float in Burton's freeride focused boards, and strength in park-focused boards.

Dual Zone™ EGD™Engineered Grain Direction manipulates the angles and direction of wood grains in the core for superior edge-hold, response, and durability.

Laminates

Triax™ FiberglassVersatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred

Carbon I-Beam™This ultra-light carbon backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap

Jumper Cables Hi-VoltageThese ultra-light carbon stringers radiate energy outward from your feet toward the tip and tail. The result is greater pop and snap when powering through turns without sacrificing the board's overall playful feel. For maximum flight, Jumper Cables Hi-Voltage use carbonated rods for ultra-electrified pop and performance.

Sidewalls

10:45 SidewallsAggressive rippers take note. 10:45’s extra-meaty, dual angle geometry results in bomber impact absorption.

Base

Sintered WFO BaseInfusing a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material results in an ultra-durable base that stays wide open all season in any condition.

Comments about Burton Family Tree Trick Pony Snowboard 2014:

Out of the 40-something odd times I was able to ride this season one of my best powder days was spent on this board. With a Flat Top rocker profile this board floats really well in the powder, especially when it gets deep. With a twin shape and flex pattern you can get super playful and ride like crazy, switch, forwards or sideways it doesn't matter. I am 6'1" and I rode the 158cm and it felt just right for me. If you are looking for a good powder board that can be taken almost anywhere else then this would be a great choice. Just make sure you really tighten your screws and have the washers present when you lock your bindings into the Burton Channel, mine came loose a few times because I wasn't careful.

Comments about Burton Family Tree Trick Pony Snowboard 2014:

This is probably my Favorite Pow Stick ever. its great for your everyday groomer ripping, it rides short and quick when you need it to. It really rides well in the soft stuff! Easy to turn, floats like a dream and charges like Mel Gibson (in Braveheart, or Drunk Driving, whichever you prefer). Also, this board compliments my Burton Nug quite well.

Like a crisp, cold beer this board never disappoints! Touted as a powder board, which it slated, but this rode the whole mountain so, so well!

Comments about Burton Family Tree Trick Pony Snowboard 2014:

I was lucky enough to demo this board twice last winter before purchasing it this year. One day was a true Oregon Powder Day and the other was a springtime slush park day. This board rules! On the powder day it floated so good and I didn't have to set my stance back at all. It's a twin that rides pow like a directional board. Pretty awesome if you ask me!
On the slushy spring day, the Pony blasted through chop with ease and laps through the park were surprisingly fun for a "powder" board.
Overall, this board is flat under your feet with Reverse Camber in the nose and tail. The flat section made the board incredibly stable while the rocker zones added float and a bit of playfulness.
HIghly recommended if you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow, still like to ride the entire mountain and only want one board!

Comments about Burton Family Tree Trick Pony Snowboard 2014:

I was fortunate to ride this board on a powder day at my local resort last year at a demo day and boy oh boy this board was fun! The Trick Pony is new this season for Burton. It has a 3 year warranty, too! I guess all Burton's do this year, pretty awesome! Anyway, this board is flat under your feet with rocker in the nose and tail. It's a twin, Freestyle Powder board. I love the simple graphics and look of the board. When not in the deep stuff, it railed on groomers and was even fun in the park.
Long story short, if you're looking to bring your park riding into powder, look no further than the all new Trick Pony. Oh yeah, I just read that it won a Good Wood award, too!
