Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard 2012

A benchmark in the Burton line, the Burton custom Flying V Snowboard returns and continues to wow. A true versatile machine that rules it all, the Burton Custom Flying V features a super strong and lightweight Super Fly II™ core with Flying V™ camber-rocker hybrid for incredible playfulness, stability, and electrified edge control thanks to Lightning Bolts.
Rocker Type
Flying V™ is a spring-loaded blend of camber and rocker performance - rocker overall for wonderful playfulness and float through pow but with subtle camber zones underneath for focused edge-control and power.
Flex
Flex rating: 5 (1 soft -10 stiff)
Medium flex means the Burton Custom Flying V has a great amount of flex and response but without being too stiff; playful in the park and floaty in the pow.
Twin flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile regular or switch, frontside or backside.
Construction and Core
Super Fly II™ core with Dualzone™ EGD™ features stronger and lighter woods that target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength and reduced weight.
Triax™ Fiberglass with Carbon I-Beam™ allows for a versatile flex and response for all types of shredders.
Lightning Bolts are energy transfer strands that allows the board to be more responsive without making it stiff.
The M6 Channel focuses power through a central connection that acts as a backbone for the board’s internal tech and allows you to micro-adjust your stance width and angles with all binding formats.
Infinite Ride™ assure the board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from day one and for years to come.
Shape
Directional Shape is the most versatile snowboard shape, designed with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow and control.
Squeezebox ramps up the core profile on the edges of bindings for better edge control.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Sintered WFO base infuses specially formulated wax deep into the pores of the extra-absorbent high-density sintered material resulting in an ultra-durable base that stays wide open all season.
10:45™ Sidewalls have extra-meaty, dual angle geometry that results in bomb impact absorption.
Frostbite Edges beneath bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions.
Pro-Tip™ tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

can't go wrong with the burton custom

Comments about Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard 2012:

the Burton Custom is one of the longest running models of any snowboard company. ever. it is the board that most other boards are based off of and worked off from. it really is a do-anything board. from taking high-speed groomers, park/pipe, and powder you feel stable and confident at all times. the new camber humps puts camber under your feet for stability but helps lift the tip and tail up for increased play and float in deep snow. 2 thumbs up!

Comments about Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard 2012:

This is my first real season, but this is my second board. I had a more beginnerish board (GNU Carbon Credit) for my first couple sessions, which was full reverse camber, but a bit stiffer. This has turned out to be a great second board and has allowed me to learn how to ride hard and fast in all conditions, take jumps, do spins, etc.

I've seen this rated several places as an intermediate to advanced board, but to me is seems appropriate for a more advanced beginner.

I love all the awesome tech on this board, especially the channel binding system with some Malavita ESTs.

Comments about Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard 2012:

I have ridden this board in Ice and powder and whatever the mountain throws at you this board can handle! You can be anyone from a advanced technical backcountry rider to a guy who just likes to ride hard and fast on the runs that wants a board that can hold an insane edge at high speeds. The Custom has been my board of choice for about 8 years now and with that Squeeze box Burton added this year just makes it that much better!
