Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard 2011 Review
Colors displayed in alternate views may not be available
Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard 2011: Driven by the pipe and park prowess of Mason and backcountry domination of Mads, the new Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard revolutionizes all-mountain performance by strategically combining the overall radness of rocker with the snappy suspension and power of camber under each foot. Add in the all-wheel drive grip of Frostbite Edges and the mind-reading response of the new Lightning Bolts and the Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard is ready to change the game, yet again.
Flex
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft-10 Stiff) Take flight with V-Rocker’s next evolution. A premium blend of camber and rocker performance, Flying V™ offers the best of both worlds. Rocker overall, including between and outside your feet, enhances playfulness and float through pow. Underneath your feet, subtle camber zones combines with Frostbite Edges, EGD, and The Channel to focus edge-control for crisp snap, added pop, and power through turns. Twin flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile regular or switch, frontside or backside.
Construction and Core
Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core with the Super Fly II Core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. Further optimized for float in freeride focused boards, and strength in park boards.
Shape
Directional: the classic, most versatile snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or snow condition. The tapered tip and tail thickness of Pro-Tip reduces swing weight for easier mobility and float.
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
The Carbon I Beam backbone increases pop and longitudinal snap. Edges beneath your bindings extend out slightly for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don’t, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining ever forgiving in softer conditions. With Dualzone EGD, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength. Triax fiberglass offers versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred. The sintered base is durable and highly porous which offers added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide. 10:45 Sidewalls are extra meaty with dual angle geometry that results in bomber impact absorption.
Other Features
Don’t toss your old bindings. The New Channel M6 uses a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use, and allows for compatibility with all Burton bindings as well as bindings from select competitors. The included M6 Transition Kit contains everything needed to ride pre-2011 Burton disc and EST bindings with the latest generation of The Channel. The Kit includes two retro discs for compatibility with Burton disc bindings as well as a full set of the M6 Transition hardware for compatibility with both Burton disc and EST bindings.

Channel is Amazing

Comments about Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard 2011:

Riding this guy was my first experience with Burton's Channel and EST system. Let me tell you, it was like love at first ride. The Channel system provides an unlimited amount of stance options that are super easy to change. But what i like most about the channel is the feel. This board and binding combo gives the best feeling of a board i have ever experienced. It provides excellent response when carving around, giving you the best natural feeling ride. Burton has their own version of rocker called the V-Rocker. It actually comes to a more dramatic point at the center of the board than any other rocker. However i could not feel a difference between this an any other rockered board.

Comments about Burton Custom Flying V Rocker Snowboard 2011:

The Custom Flying V was one of the best 2011 boards I tested this past winter. The Flying V Rocker/Camber combination that Burton used in this board felt great. It held up during high speed carves, yet floated when I got into the deeps. Of all the board shapes out there, this one is definitely one of my favorites!
