Product Info

Much, much better than a mounted trophy over the fireplace, the Burton Antler Snowboard is a new for 2013 model that adds "playful" and "soft" to the lexicon of the performance board. Built with Burton's best tech components like 60˚ Carbon Hi-Voltage and Lightning Bolts Hi-Voltage reinforcement, a Dragonfly™ ultralight core, and super fast Sintered WFO base, the Antler will let you add a new dimension to your riding.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Flying V™A blend of Camber and Rocker, for the best of both worlds: rocker overall, including between and outside your feet, enhances playfulness and float. Underneath your feet, subtle camber zones focus edge-control for added pop and power through turns.

Flex

Flex Rating (1 Soft-10 Stiff)4, A medium flex for easy turning and forgiving freestyle moves

TwinThe flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that's equally versatile regular or switch.

Infinite Ride™This Burton-exclusive technology allows for maximized pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

Shape

Ellip KicksAn elliptical tip and tail shape that promotes pop and improves float and clearance in pow and variable snow

Pro-Tip™A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

ScoopThis exaggerated tip and tail scooping turns up the edges for a looser, more forgiving feel.

Sidecut

Twin-LikeWhether riding regular or switch, get the freestyle feel of a twin shape with improved float and control through variable terrain and conditions.

Core

Draonfly™ CoreOver 300 independent laminations, each individually oriented within the core, result in superior weight-savings, strength, and energized response.

Multizone EGD™Perpendicular wood grain orientation in four zones adjacent to The Channel for increased strength and riding precision

SqueezeboxThis improves performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from where it originates beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board more stable and easily manipulated.

Laminates

Carbon Highlights Hi-VoltageCarbon Highlights optimize each layer of the fiberglass matrix and add a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce overall weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. A 60° fiber angle creates a highly maneuverable and playful feel, while a 45° fiber angle provides a more aggressive ride. In select Hi-Voltage models, the addition of carbon strands to the angled fiber layers adds life and further reduces weight.

Jumper Cables Hi-VoltageUltra-light carbon stringers radiate energy outward from your feet towards the tip and tail. The result is greater pop and snap when powering through turns without sacrificing the board’s overall playful feel. For maximum flight, Jumper Cables Hi-Voltage use carbonated rods for ultra-electrified pop and performance.

Lightning Bolts Hi-VoltageRadiating outward from beneath your feet, these energy transfer strands allow us to make the board more responsive without making it stiff. The Hi-Voltage version features energy transfer strands woven into the fiberglass both above and below the board’s core for better power and response.

Base

Sintered WFOSuper fast base that retains wax well, 50% recycled content

Comments about Burton Antler Snowboard 2013:

This deck with Flying V mmakes all parts of the hill enjoyable. Quality tech like Frostbite and EGD give solid edge hold while the flex helps rookies progress and seasoned vets rally everything.

Comments about Burton Antler Snowboard 2013:

This is a fun twintip that has a stiff tip and tail. It has a medium flex in the waist. The Antler has Flying V Rocker with the Dragon Fly II core (like the Custom X) I had the Antler paired up with the Cartels which made for a super playful ride... When you charge the stiffer tip and tail allow you to eat up the bumps.

Comments about Burton Antler Snowboard 2013:

Rode this with Malavitas this past season. It's an awesome board, plenty of pop, and pretty light. It can hold an edge, but you can also manipulate the edges to get certain hold or slide. The EST system helps immensely with this.
I landed really hard onto a heavily packed crossing (from maybe 15 feet up) and punched the binding through the topsheet core and sidewall, without any damage to the base. Burton was quick to work with me and I got fixed up riding on another Antler!
Can't wait to get this year's version, with an even lighter design and transparent topsheet or something.?!
On their website Burton calls it an 'exotic' board, and I think this holds, as you might think of an 'exotic' car; it does everything that you want a nice ride to do, but it takes a different set of skills, and performs a different set of maneuvers as compared to your typical domestic, or Custom.
I rode Burton Customs for the two years prior, and I still think that a Custom may be more predictable, or better at transitioning. The Antler definitely has a more playful feel to it that takes a minute to figure out, but is very rewarding once you get it.
