Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard 2011

After the storm of rocker craze has swept through the Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard will be around taking names and getting down to business with the drive of Camber. Built with the all NEW progressive Squeezebox technology that is thinner underfoot, thicker between and outside your feet, resulting in a poppier board that can be manipulated and maneuvered with little effort. In addition, the Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard has a lightweight Super Fly® Core, Twin-like shape for great float and a sintered base for great glide.
Flex
Directional flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control and flow through all conditions.
Triax™
Construction and Core
Super Fly® Core technology is lightened up and loaded with pop. It is a sandwich, yum, of hard and soft woods that is lighter in weight and has better snap and response.
Squeezebox, a new design, transfers energy outward from under your feet, energizing the tip and tail for added snap when exiting a turn, ollying and powering through transitions. There are thinner core sections underfoot that transition to thicker and more powerful areas between and outside your feet for a board that can be power-upped with less effort.
The Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard has a Negative Core Profile meaning there are thinner sections of core between the bindings softening flex and torsion for a more playful feel and added foot control that is perfect for everything from park to pow.
Infinite Ride™ technology allows the board to maintain its flex, pop and feel from the first day forward, season after season.
Shape
The Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard is Camber throughout acting like a suspension, creating a lively ride capable of slicing and stomping the entire mountain. Camber distributes weight evenly over the entire length of the board allowing for smooth, continuous edge control.
Twin-like shape for a freestyle feel with improved float and control through all conditions
The Channel (M6) focuses power through a central connection that evenly distributes energy for added rebound and snap. The M6 means that Burton is using a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use because it allow for compatibility with all Burton bindings
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Sintered base is durable and highly porous for great wax absorption and greater overall glide.
Slantwall is a 28° profile that creates a classic, consistent edge-hold that cuts like a knife!
Dualzone™ EGD™: wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength.
Pro-Tip™ cut is a tapered tip and tail thickness that reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

Comments about Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard 2011:

I got a Skate Banana 56 with Ride Rx binders 4yrs ago as gift. It was my third board, first time with reverse camber. Being so catch free it was awesome for flat tricks, jumps, best of all in POW. Replaced it for this season for a MUCH much lighter Process V rocker 55, which rides so much better than the Banana, being a rocker it might as well be hella flexible and the lib is as stiff as cascade concrete. After the mountain got completely tracke out a couple weeks into this season I pulled out the Aftermath. I was blown away, best day of snowboarding in a grip. After 4yrs I completely forgot what a camber board feels like to ride on firm surface conditions. AMAZING. So much more pop than a rocker, such a smoother, more consistent ride. It holds an edge very well(rockers loose edge hold very easily, on purpose of course), I can carve hard enough to give myself butterflies on this beast. When my dreams came true and snowflakes fell I did pull the Process V rocker back out, the camber seems to dive into the soft stuff much easier. Two boards are better than one anyway. Did I mention it's got one of the cleanest, dopest graphics ever laid on a board?

Comments about Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard 2011:

My other board is an Arbor Coda 166 Wide. I'm 6' tall and 210. Nice fast board especially in powder but the reverse camber gets a little squirrely on ice and hard pack.

I rode a 2012 Vapor at Burton demo days at mammoth and loved it... in this year's ice and hard groomer conditions it was super stable and fast. I also tried a Custom Flying V, a pretty aggressive reverse camber board, and that sucker almost killed me, it got so squirrely on hard pack.

Well, I loved the Vapor but I can't afford that so I did a bunch of research and figured out that the Aftermath is sort of a poor man's Vapor... gives me most of what I loved about the Vapor, its almost as light, almost as poppy, and has awesome edges for handling ice and hard pack. I'm a fan of not dying, so I went ahead and got the board. Beautiful but not obnoxious board, and Evo really hooked me up with an amazing price on a 2011.

For those curious about fit, I wear a size 12 boot, I got a 158 board and while I was initially worried about overhanging too much, it worked out perfect. I put large cartel est's on it, I'm goofy with 18 degrees forward, negative 12 back, about 1.7 positive offset on both feet so a little wide but not totally duckfooted.

With the Burton Raptors (with footprint reduction tech), I had zero problem with overhang, rotating the board on edge to 45 degrees there was still plenty of room, and I don't get anywhere near that aggressive on hill.

I also tried size 12 Salomon Dialogues and DC Ceptors on this setup and they were bigger boots... maybe would have overhang problems but probably not, also I noticed they didn't fit as perfectly into the cartel est's as the raptors but would probably have been fine.

So I took my brand new EST setup to Mammoth this last weekend and I gotta tell you it was AWESOME, so tight and controlled, turns like an extension of my thoughts, super comfy for my feet, after 6 hours of nonstop hard riding hardpack groomers and occasional ice patches my legs and feet felt great and it never got squirrely.

Plus the base is super fast, I didn't get caught in any flat spots and I hit a new personal speed record.

I'm in love. Thanks Evo for hooking me up with the board and boots!!

Solid board and fast as hell. I'm a little underwhelmed with it in the park, but it's definitely not bad in there. (I prefer downhill anyways.)

        Very light.

Surface scratches very easily. After the first day, it fairly scratched up.

          Camber is back!
This board is a great alternative to all the rockered noodles that are on the market.
For anyone who hasn't been fully sold on the rocker craze, or who can still remember what it feels like to be in full control while your riding, this is the board for you!
The squeezebox also adds a lot of pop making this board even more responsive and fun!

Comments about Burton Aftermath Squeezebox Snowboard 2011:

15th season riding in the Northeast. Handles the dust on crust we have here very well. Good pop when launching over debris in the glades or fallen skiers. Quick flip from edge to edge. My first time with this type of bindings - I can twist the board easily for super fast carving. Nice board.

This is the first board. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this board to anyone whether amateur or expert. With the added wiring technology you can really feel the flex in the ride. Carving on North East trails with ice is no issue. With the added M6 transition kit changing stance is simple and quick. The only issue I've had is that the black top shows a lot of wear and tear (scratches, dings, etc).

Finally got to try out this board and it has incredible edge hold and pop. Saved a boatload of money since its last years model and was on sale, but still an excellent top quality board!

This is the first board that I've OWNED. I don't know much about them, but I do like to go fast and this board seems to handle the speed well. I haven't noticed any weird vibrations and feel safe at all times. It's also nice that it seems to grip well and allow me to make quick, brisk turns down the mountain. Overall seems great!

I Love this board, I'm a 5' 7" 125lb female with a size 7 woman's shoe & I love to go fast. There isn't another board out there that is this stiff and narrow, most other boards that can hold speed like this are way too wide for a small foot. I haven been this excited about a board in years!!!
