Arbor Element CX Snowboard 2012

An Arbor favorite since day one, the Arbor Element CX Snowboard is tried, true and always a fun ride. Built with a Mystic 1 Core, with bamboo stringers, and Camber under food, you can be assured the Element CX provides excellent initiation, return and control. The Element CX continues to fuel the ride everything addicts of those who go everywhere on the mountain without a care.
Rocker Type
Traditional camber shape for maximum edge control and ollie power.
Flex
Shadow flex is a slight tapered thinning of the core profile between the bindings that improves: turn and spin initiation; tracking in mixed conditions, on the flats, and during landings; and performance on rails, boxes, and jibs.
Construction and Core
Power Ply bamboo topsheet works like a 3rd layer of fiberglass that structurally enhances a board for added return and improved durability. Arbor’s wood Power Plys are produced using a range of sustainably sourced, natural wood veneers.
Mystic 1 Core is a high-grade core for mixed mountain or park performance; built using FSC certified, sustainably produced “TDS” poplar and reinforced with two bamboo axels running tip to tail down the center of the core. The bamboo axels create compression struts that liven up the longitudinal flex without affecting turn or spin initiation and landing.
Shape
Standard Progressive sidecut is a blended tri-radial sidecut design that provides tighter turning and quicker initiation, while maintaining stability at speed, when flat boarding, and during landings.
Directional Shape
Sidewalls, Edges and Base
Rhythm rails sidewalls are made from an advanced blend of ABS and urethane; delivers durability, a clean, acoustically damp ride, and solid edge performance.
Rocket base is a higher molecular weight, wax-infused sintered base that provides unmatched durability and speed.
Recycled steel edges are built with hardened steel made using 60% recycled steel; provide maximum edge performance
Ultra-thin protective top foil made using 30% caster bean based bio-plastic. This top sheet protects the board from damage caused by loose bindings, out-of-control skiers, or other unforeseen impacts. It also eliminates the need for environmentally harmful clear coats.

**Please note that base colors will alternate and may not arrive exactly as pictured.
Binding Compatibility
2x4 inserts provide both a wide stance range and amazing micro adjustability.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Freestyle
    All-Mountain
All-mountain snowboards are designed for exploring the whole mountain. They are your go-to for a snowboard that will do anything. They feel at home on groomers, powder, park runs and almost anything in between. The vast majority of snowboarders choose all-mountain boards for their great versatility. If you’re just getting started or unsure of exactly what you need, an all-mountain snowboard is a great choice.
    Freestyle
Freestyle or park snowboards tend to be a bit shorter in length and love terrain parks, rails, jibs, trash cans, tree trunks, riding switch (non-dominant foot forward), wall rides and more. Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Camber
    Camber
Camber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.
  • Flex Rating: Medium
    Medium
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.

Comments about Arbor Element CX Snowboard 2012:

Looks great out of the box. Got this board (158) on sale for a great price and am very anxious to get out and ride. No complaints yet - so far its served its display purpose well. Here's hoping the east coast gets some snow this year!

Comments about Arbor Element CX Snowboard 2012:

This board rails turns with the grip tech and still has a playful flex. It has great control and lots of pop with the bamboo stringers in the core. Fun all round board.

    2012 ARBOR Cambered ELEMENT 155

Comments about Arbor Element CX Snowboard 2012:

This is first Arbor I've ever ridden and I loved it, I always thought they'd be stiff and personality-less with all the wood they rock. But this misconception was shed real quick, this board is great at high speed, edge-to-edge, pow landings, has enough nose to float in pow, but is also great on hard pack I really enjoyed this board!
