Product Info

Salomon The Fatale Snowboard Boots - Women's 2012: The Salomon Fatale Snowboard Boots are for the ladies that run with the boys, and want to bring that street style to the resort. The Fatale comes in a super soft flex for a street inspired feel, and the NEW Hit and Run lacing system for quick in and out.

Product Details

Flex Rating and Fit

Coming in at a 2 flex (1 Soft – 10 Stiff), the Salomon Fatale is for that jibby lady that wants more flex and board feel from her boots while hitting urban rails.

Construction

Fusion construction is low profile and eliminates all toe and heel drag.

The Funk Outsole makes it easy to walk and run with no slip.

Liner and Lacing

NEW Feels Good Liner with Autofit foam adapts itself automatically to the foot. High density memory foam is located in sensitive areas of the foot. Oh yeah, it’s also self-molding.

Hit and Run – Salomon’s new blend of traditional lacing and cuffs. Lace’s on the bottom half of the boot let you tighten for control, and the Free-Flex collar is quick and easy to get in and out of, and changes the flex pattern and mobility of the boot.

Special Features

The Mystic Footbed 1 mixes science and pleasure. Gypsies told Salomon they needed to focus on keeping major zones strong and the rest will be happy. So that’s what they did.

Just received today so I haven't tried them out on the mountain yet. I was super happy that I bought my regular street shoe size 7.5 in these. I'd read that many people were buying a 1/2 size down from their street shoes. Fortunately when these arrived, they fit perfectly snug!

My toes were snug to the front (too tight IMO had they been street shoes but since they'll break in, they're perfect). When laced tightly I had no heel lift too!

I bought them after reading another review that said these felt great on her calves & shins. Since this is a problem area for me & my legs often feel strangled in snowboard boots, I found this to be a selling feature. The velcro strap came up to right underneath my calf! Couldn't give 5 stars since while laces & velcro are easy enough, I have to pull like crazy in order to get a nice tight fit! And the velcro strap doesn't come all the way across to cover all the velcro teeth (even without being on, note the picture). So it just seems like they should've made a longer strap or reduced the amount of velcro teeth showing.

I bought these for my son for his first season, he's 9 and grows like a weed so I needed to get reasonably cheap boots. They fit true to size and he says they are very comfortable from the beginning, even before they packed out. We had to tighten them several times throughout the days and the lacing/velcro buckle combination is kind of a pain. He can't do it by himself and it's hard to tighten the velcro streap enough to get the top part tight.

They are comfortable, warm, and under $50 right now, considering all that you're getting a good deal if you need beginner boots that won't be worn every day.

Comments about Salomon The Fatale Snowboard Boots - Women's 2012:

I got an incredible deal on these boots with Evo's Fourth of July sale. I figured that the boots would be pretty bland due to the price but was very pleasantly suprirsed when they arrived. The boots look great and are of quality construction. The colors are fun and funky. The boot is comfortably snug and still a little roomy in the toes. The only downside to this boot is the lacing system. As others have pointed out, it's awkward. The inner boot has this weird pull string that looks simple enough to operate, but it doesn't seem to lock in very easily. Once you get that down, the exterior lacing is a little weird too. It's hard to get the boot super tight with lacing only going half way up. The upper buckle helps with that a bit.

Comments about Salomon The Fatale Snowboard Boots - Women's 2012:

Great product, just use a boot dryer to ensure fresh feet for the following day. In addition the sticky part of the velcro is exposed & get's stuff caught in it, so just add on an additional piece to cover it, so your laces don't stick constantly.

I bought these because I have women's size 7 double e width feet and I heard Solomon runs a little wide which I found to be true. I did still have to get mine stretched professionally though. These boots have room in the toe box which is nice. Tbey're also a super flexible boot which makes them more for comfort than responsiveness.

Put my feet in these babies and it felt as if I was walking on clouds. The inner boot has a really comfortable interior, and build seems pretty good. I haven't had a chance to try these out on the mountain yet, but I'd highly recommend these boots for the price.
Lacing systems a bit weird- more similar to actual shoe than boot. Bottom lacing works same as shoes, but top comes with a velcro bar. Velco bar is a bit short IMO.
Overall, a quality shoe fit for beginners.

I fell in love with the look of these boots, and after trying on 3-4 other pairs, I felt these fit the best. They run true to size, but are apparently pretty wide, because I couldn't get my bindings (Burton Stiletto) to lock in when I rode last night. Super frustrating. My Rome bindings were barely wide enought to fit the boot, but luckily worked well enough to not ruin my night of boarding. Just be sure to try them in your bindings before you wear them out.
