Comments about Salomon Synapse Snowboard Boots 2013:

Ive been riding in Salomon Synapse boots for years now and for good reason. They give me the stiff, responsive feel I require for hard, steep, and fast lines. For reference, last year I thought I'd "upgrade" to the Malamute for an even stiffer ride and was really bummed when I quickly realized the the pressure points in the liners. If you're comparing the two, let me explain what I was unaware of until it was too late. In the Malamute liner, they incorporate hard plastic eyelets in the lacing which when sinched down create a very uncomfortable spot right in the bend of the foot in front of your ankle. It was so bad I had to pull my Synapse liner out of retirement to run in a brand new Malamute shell. To me this was an unacceptable design flaw that unfortunately they have continued into this season Malamute as well. So, for anyone shopping Salomon and torn between Synapse and Malamute, there you have it. I wish someone had told me! Have a killer season, whatever you run!

A stiffer boot with flexibility when you need it. Lacing system kinda gets in way of ankle strap, but otherwise great boot

Comments about Salomon Synapse Snowboard Boots 2013:

Love these boots. Salomon is perfect for narrower feet. I own salomon ski boots as well and take 1/2 a size smaller for ski boots. Salomon fits me just right, i love it. If Burton doesnt feel good and feels like super wide, just go with salomon. The regular lacing system works fine, i dont have to readjust at all during the day. (And again its much better than the Burton system where you have to roll the laces and it takes forever) really love them and the look is great. The stiffness is spot on if you want to charge and carve. I ride a burton custom x 162 wide. Go for it.

Great looking boots and extremely comfortable. I love the insert liners. Only thing worth noting is the size fit. I normally wear a size 10.0 and had to go down to a 9.0 for a truly tight fit

Comments about Salomon Synapse Snowboard Boots 2013:

I fractured my ankle in 3 places at the end of last season, which required 2 k-wires to be screwed into my fibula to fix it. At the time of my injury, I was riding a pretty old, pretty basic pair of boots. I always knew I shouldn't be riding the boots I had but, since I hadn't experienced any major issues with them, I carelessly didn't replace them.

As you may imagine, one of my first priorities after recovering from my injury, was to buy a new pair of boots. I had always rode Burton (let me make sure I tell you that I love Burton due to a proven track record for incredible products) but, was not going to pigeon-hole myself this time and kept the door open to all possibilities. After doing a decent amount of research through local board shops, the internet, and friends& family, it ultimately came down to one company I was going to purchase from. Salomon. All the information I found showcased Salomon's Synapse, Malamute, or F 4.0 as being the best boot for me, and many others. The Synapse was my final decision. The boots provide a firm, slightly-flexible fit, with multiple locking locations; not to mention they look sick, are wicked comfortable and, extremely warm. I have never felt better in a pair of boots, especially considering my anxiety to be back on the mountain 8 months after the accident.

I can confidently say, you will not be upset with these Salomon boots if you're looking for similar characteristics in what boots you wear to ride. And for the price I paid for these from EVO, how could I be anything but happy. Thanks to Salomon for truly bringing the best of skiing technology to a snowboarding boot and, to EVO for providing the industries top-of-the-line products in one convenient place, with great pricing, great reviews, free shipping, fast delivery, and great customer service! I mean they even threw a Liftopia gift card in with my order.

Anyways, I almost never write reviews, and certainly don't carry-on as much as I have here but, I don't think I've ever been happier with a snowboarding gear purchase in my entire 16 years of riding. Hope this helps my fellow riders. Take it easy.
