Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots 2011 – From back lips to back flips, the Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots’ Zero G Outsole cushions your heels through bomb drops or background props. Lightweight with a medium flex and offering durable materials with a better value than the disposable skate shoe offerings from other brands, these boots are built for you to skate the snow and built to last.
Flex Rating and Fit
Flex Rating: 6 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff)
The Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots feature a flex rating 6 that makes sure these boots have enough give while leaning slightly on the stiffer side for plenty of response.
Construction
The Custom Fit foam is multi-density foam that is shaped and held in place by Salomon’s legendary stitched liners, and the Mystic Footbed, Level 2 in the Savage boots, is the only antimicrobial footbed in snowboarding that increases blood circulation, prevents fatigue and embodies natural healing from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.
Liner and Lacing
The Salomon Dialogue Snowboard Boots feature a Liner Balance level of 1; Salomon’s Liner Balance features 4 levels of construction based on the same design philosophy that displaces liner lace pressure from the top of your foot, around the key holding areas of the arch and above the heel while tightening the liner lace to wrap the ankle both firmly and comfortably around, rather than on top, of the foot. Powerlace Pro, in the meantime, gives you fine-tuned tightening at unmatched speeds.
Special Features
Injected EVA structure, an ultra soft compressed EVA heel counter, and fore foot energy pods comes together to strike the perfect balance between response and absorption in the Zero G outsole.

Comments about Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots 2011:

I am a beginner, switched to snowboarding from skiing for 30 years. My wife bought me the quick lace version but a BOA one is also available elsewhere. The Savage is a very ergonomic, a well designed boot, however the lacing system was a bit complex and did not lock tight. What good is a boot with laces that don't work? I returned the product and went with the K2 Raider Boa, a quick and easy way to tighten laces. If I got the Salomon Savage in BOA, I would definitely keep them.

Comments about Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots 2011:

I own a flow binding and these boots seemed like a good fit. It was a good fit for binding, but not for my feet. The heel side of liner has a really scrapy material. Imagine having the plastic part of the velcro sticking on your heel. I could feel it with the socks on too. Eventually my feel started developing blisters, which watered up. After about 4 hours of riding, and walking, your heel will be in pain. Also the lacing system doesn't hold up. you can easily pop your heel out. I've owned DC, Burton, Atomic, and Flow boots. I think Flow boots are very very good. I wish I had went with the Flow Rift instead. I'm re-selling this boots used.

Comments about Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots 2011:

I was worried about the speed lacing system, but decided I'd try these out anyway because of evo.com's no hassle return policy and great pricing. The laces lock in place in three spots, making lacing them up a breeze, and after 10 days of riding, I've never had to re-tighten... in fact, it's very easy to over-tighten, but no big deal, loosening them take seconds.

I do a lot of freestyle riding and I initially found these a bit too stiff for my liking... I believe that's due to my prior boots being so old and worn out because after my second day riding, they felt great.

My one criticism is that they leak a little bit. The tongue has some slight gaps and when snow builds up around the bottom laces, it begins to melt and eventually leaks into the boot. I've only noticed this on my left boot and it's not much at all... certainly not bad enough for me to return them.

Another impressive characteristic is that these boots keep me heel in place. They are a bit narrow so if you have wide feet, probably not the best purchase for you, but these are the first boots I've had with zero heel lift...
