After I injured my ankle when I had Burton boots on I needed something with more support. 12 seasons later I can report that with the Malamute's I remain injury free. The form of the inner and the power-strap on the inside really keep your foot down and locked in place helping to prevent ankle injuries.

Salomon Malamute boots are honestly the best boots out there that I have ever used and this is actually the second pair of Malamutes that I have owned. The first pair I bought in 1999 and they lasted me over 9+ seasons of 30+ days of riding each year. I have tried DC boots and owned a few pair of Burton boots, but these just work better. There is nothing flashy about the design or style and the technology that is in them is what makes it worth buying.

These are the major points on why they are above the rest:
Light - The material these boots are made of makes the boot EXTREMELY light in comparison to other boots I have seen and worn.

Small boot print - Since I have a 10.5 shoe size the actual size of the boot is more important to me since I dont want that much overhang on the toe and heel edges and this boot is seriously the SMALLEST boot you can find.

Stiffness - This boot is EXTREMELY stiff and helps to get a better response out of the board for quick moves. For the park though the stiffness can sometimes be a little bit of a hinderance but if you arent in the park all day the boot is AWESOME!

Cons:
Overall, this is a phenomenal boot, but there are some minor problems.
Lacing System: The new lacing system is SUCH a pain in the butt to tie and untie the boot. The old lacing system was sooooo much less of a pain and now the actual exterior lacing system has this handle that sometimes falls off the boot in between your boot and binding causing significant frustration.

Warmth: Since the boot is so thin sometimes on a cold day your feet get a little chillier than normal, but I would rather sacrifice comfort over performance ANY day of the week.

The lacing system is improved from older model. Better locking cinch dealies. Still a pain though but very supportive.

My husband and I have been riding for 15 years and have tried a TON of boots, bottom line is Solomon are by far the best fitting/best performing. You know at the end of the day when you cant wait to get your boots off well kiss that feeling goodbye. Last time I went I took all my other gear off and forgot I had these on.

These boots are stiff and last longer than other ones I have worn. I have hiked 14ers during the winter in the Malamute 06 boots, backcountry bowls... and they still are solid boots! I bought the 08/09 Malamutes mainly due to great price:) I came over from skiing and simply like the tighter fit, too much movement in other boots at high speeds was not fun.

I haven't been on the slopes with them yet this year, but i know how they feel from years past. Im sure it will be a great season. A good stiff boot to support my recently sprained ankle.

The delivery was prompt. The Condition they were in was Excellent. I called into EvoGear and asked a few questions about the boot, prior to purchase. The employee was knowledgeable about the boot as well as the return policy if i found the boot wasn't for me.
