Salomon Dialogue Snowboard Boots 2011 – Do you want a long lasting flex and a freestyle boot that can survive 100+ days a season? The Salomon Dialogue Snowboard Boots have you covered. Salomon’s new Reflex construction dials in a smooth, crease-less flex for unrestricted movement on jibs, jumps and all mountain trickery, meaning your dialogue with the mountain can go on and on.
Flex Rating and Fit
Flex Rating: 7 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff)
The Salomon Dialogue Snowboard Boots feature a stiff flex rating of 7 for the boarder who loves plenty of response in their boot.
Construction
The Custom Fit foam is multi-density foam that is shaped and held in place by Salomon’s legendary stitched liners, and Reflex construction makes the boot move naturally from heel to calf, just like you do. The Mystic Footbed (Level 3 in the Dialogue boots) is the only antimicrobial footbed in snowboarding that increases blood circulation, prevents fatigue and embodies natural healing from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.
Liner and Lacing
The Salomon Dialogue Snowboard Boots feature a Liner Balance level of 2; Salomon’s Liner Balance features 4 levels of construction based on the same design philosophy that displaces liner lace pressure from the top of your foot, around the key holding areas of the arch and above the heel while tightening the liner lace to wrap the ankle both firmly and comfortably around, rather than on top, of the foot. Powerlace Pro, in the meantime, gives you fine-tuned tightening at unmatched speeds.
Special Features
Injected EVA structure, an ultra soft compressed EVA heel counter, and fore foot energy pods comes together to strike the perfect balance between response and absorption in the Zero G outsole.

Im on my 3rd pair of Salomon Dialoge Size 12.5 boots. The majority of my riding is park, but I have ridden these boots in every condition. The boots work well for park riding: great ankle support and plenty of flexibility for grabbing, tweaking and general park maneuverability. Sole is soft so you can "feel" the board and terrain, but firm enough to prevent heel bruises from landings into the flats or casing the knuckle from one too many speed checks. The new footbed is orthopedic and supportive. Overall fit is great for my narrow feet, one reason I keep buying this model because I KNOW how they fit. The speed lace system is one of the best I have encountered, that is why I keep going back. Simple and functional, I usually customize my fit to blood restricting on the lower half, and loosey goosey up top so I can bone out the back leg on a stinky stalefish. The speedlace system is durable. I will disclose that my 2nd pair I broke the lace itself after 2 years of hard park riding - these boots were nearing the end of their life anyways as the shells were starting to break down. My 3rd and current pair, the clip on the handle of the speed lace broke on my first trip out. Does not effect performance, I just jamb the whole handle on the side anyways. Not going to forfeit days riding to warranty a boot that is still functioning. The boots look great, I have had compliments on them. I did not buy the boots b/c of their appearance, but based on the model. In my opinion, Salomon is very tasteful in their styling.I should also add that the anti-microbial footbed works pretty dern good. Although I air my boots out after every ride, they dont stink like my old burtons used to. Whew!

I use the boots for snowboarding around 90-100 days a year. Previously I have had pairs of Malamutes that have been great. A nice stiff boot that lasts. This boot def felt comfortable when on, but after a few runs the lacing become loose and I had to re-tighten them. Also too the boot packs out and it was way too loose for my foot making it harder to complete short sharp turns (such as riding trees). It has a 3 part system for the construction of the external boot but I found it created far too much flex for my liking and it felt like my turns took too long to initiate. The boot felt much bigger than my previous boots the Malamutes. I had to re-adjust my bindings in order to fit the Dialogues in. They felt and look like space boots. If you are only riding weekends or a few times a year I would say they are fine, but for the 100 day-a-year rider I would go with another boot.

Bought these to replace my trashed 120+ day F22s, but haven't been able to throw out the old boots because these are taking forever to break in. Compared to the F22s, they feel about half a size larger (especially in width of the toebox)

Used this boot for the first time this weekend in Sun Valley, and its a very comfortable, solid all-around boot. It kept me warm and provided plenty of support. Lacing system stayed tight, although its not as simple as other quick lace systems. Great value for the money and looks good too.

I've worn different incarnations of the Salomon Dialogue every season for the last ten years, and I don't plan on switching for the next pair of boots that I buy. They are always very comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and well constructed.

The lacing system is great and the boots are really comfy. I also havent had an issue with my feet getting cold but its also been pretty mild so in fairness I cant say that they have been really tested in that regard. My one issue is with the handle for the outside quick lace: over the course of riding for a few hours it tends to falls off your boot. Not a big problem - aside from that I think they are great!!
