K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots 2011

K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots: Only a year young, the K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots turned heads last season – raising the bar for style while holding down K2’s tradition of excellence. This year is no different as Maysis maintains the clean, textured aesthetic it’s known for. With a perfect out-of-the-box fit and a lighter, Harshmellow outsole, the difference for 10/11 is palpable. Two Boa reels manage custom fit – one for the internal K2 Conda liner, the other dials in the shell. Harshmellow footbeds dampen the speed bumps.

Comments about K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots 2011:

this is the 2nd boot with the Boa system I have owned and both loosened after a run or two. The first boot was a lower end boot and although Ride sent me a neat little tool to tighten up the dial...it did not stop the problem. Ride were very helpful but while the boot is theirs, the lacing system is Boa's and they suggested I take it into a shop to look at. I then bought these boots, much more $$$ and a slightly diff style Boa system (retractable-recoiler system) I was hoping that the better boot and the newer Boa system might mean they fixed the loosening problem. But I was not so lucky, I still can tighten each dial several turns after each run. I absolutely love the boots, very very comfortable...but tightening each dial after every run is pathetic and I am so disappointed. I love the Boa system, at least in theory. I am not sure what I will do this year...hopefully the new Boa boots will have addressed this problem..otherwise I may go back to the std lace system....grrrrrrr!

I got these boots with The five flow bindings and a Rossi Taipan board. I love the boots the only complaint I have is that they feel a little loose after a couple of uses.

Comments about K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots 2011:

Biggest concern when getting snowboard boots is the fit so I'll focus on that first. Ordered a size 7 (street shoe size 7.5). Feels snug but not painfully tight, should pack in just right, hence the 1/2 size too big rating. I have semi-wide feet (Burton boots run too narrow in the toe and too sloppy in the heel for me) and these fit fine.

As for the boot itself, I love the "bootie boa" feature. You can lock in your heel without cranking the boot boa so tight your feet hurt.

Comments about K2 Maysis Snowboard Boots 2011:

I purchased this due to the dual boa system to keep my heels down in my boots. I have tried other dual boa systems and by far this boot kept my heels down the best. The boots are extremely comfortable and very east to put it on and take off. The only negative I noticed so far is that after a half day of riding, the boots seemed to have loosened up a tad bit and I had to crank the dial again a few turns. I'm not sure if this is due to the boot being brand spanking new and was stretched out after a bit of use. I'll have to check again after a few more runs. But so far, I'm extremely pleased with the boot. Fits great in my Flow bindings too but now I'm considering the K2 Cinch bindings to go with the them.
