K2 Gauge Snowboard Boots 2014

The K2 Gauge Snowboard Boots are a brand new addition to the 2014 K2 boot lineup. Inspired by K2's team feedback and revolving around the Endo construction, K2 decided to incorporate a similar urethane mold found in the award winning T1 boot but scaled back the flex to make the boot more freestyle friendly. Equipped with Harshmellow™ padding in the outsole and insole, the Gauge provides a great amount of shock absorption to keep you riding longer with less fatigue.
Flex
Flex Rating: 7 - On a scale of 1 to 10, these boots are a 7, offering a stiff flex for freestyle and all-mountain riding.
Fit
Endo™ Construction - Consistent flex and fit for life // A complete rethink of how a boot is constructed and flexes, Endo brings precise, engineered flex that stays consistent from day one through the life of the boot. Also, the 100% urethane Endo structure adds a lively, energetic feel that reduces fatigue and just feels good. The Endo construction is based on a urethane endsoskelital structure that focuses boot structure and flex into a single engineered part. The result is a structure that flexes and returns without breaking down when compared to the stitch and glue construction of traditional boots. You get consistent flex and boot that returns to a neutral riding position quicker and with more energy, which helps you ride longer.

Moldable internal J-bars, integrated power strap
Dual Density 3D Formed Tongue
Liner
Conda™ - The patented K2 Conda™ System allows you to tighten or loosen your liner on-the-fly from the outside of the boot! The first time you try this, you'll wonder how you ever rode without it. Whether attached to a Boa® reel for a mechanical advantage or to the single pull and lock of the K2 Conda™ System, the Conda™ minimized harness is securely built into the shell of the boot and tightens around the liner to lock your foot in position. Focus is on superior ankle support and heel hold. The harness lace is threaded through a floating tongue lace guide, allowing riders to customize fit for maximum comfort.

Intuition™ Control-Foam 3D - Superior heel hold and refined comfort // A blend of high and standard density thermo-forming Ultralon® foam // Internal/external "I" bars for increased heel hold // 3D molded EVA insole with Harshmellow™ pods
Lacing System
K2 Double Boa® - Easy to tighten front and side knobs for even tightening // Low friction guides and coiler version auto retracts loose cable.

Footbed
3D Formed EVA - Soft and durable sole with Harshmellow™ pods for added comfort
Harshmellow™ - Stomps out harsh landings // Formulated for long lasting impact absorption and vibration killing; the same Harshmellow™ material used in boards and bindings can be found in K2 boots // Harshmellow™ is Integrated in the heel and forefoot areas of the top of K2 boots to minimize rebound and make landings softer and more controlled.

Sole
Grip-Light Outsole with Rubber Pods and Harshmellow™ - Designed to be as light as possible without sacrificing durability by pairing lightweight Phylon as the main body of the sole with targeted areas of rubber and super cush Harshmellow™

  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
