Burton's done a real great job with the Ruler GMP as one of its first ventures into the sustainable world! In my opinion, the fact that this boot iss made from recycled materials adds more value to it than any other specific feature. Overall, the boot is a great all around boot. The lacing system makes for effortless use while the low profile makes for a real clean look! I myself have done a lot of off-piste hiking this past season in this boot and would say that the only negative has been its tendency to take on quite a bit of moisture. Thus, the boots stiffness has deteriorated a bit over this past season. This seems to be largely due to the choice in materials for construction. Unfortunately this seems to be one of the drawbacks of Burton's sustainable innovations. I'd like something stiffer for when ripping gnarly faces. However, I have been completely satisfied with my purchase and feel that the positives of this boot far outweigh any negatives. This is just the start of some real cool stuff in the snow world! Definitely the boot of choice if you're trying to keep it steezy while going green!

I tried on a 2008 Ruler in a shop and it fit great, just tight enough that it would break in and pack out to perfect size. However, when I received my 2009 Ruler GMP's, they were MUCH tighter and there was no way they would break in and fit. I'm a wide size 12.

I got a great deal from Evo, and they promptly refunded my money after I returned the boots, but they just didn't work for me. By then, the 13's were gone.

Other than the fit, they were extremely light, looked cool, seemed like they would be very supportive (as the Ruler should be).

                I bought it from evogear's outlet at a great price.
                The only con would be the color, but that's probably why it was on outlet at such a good price.

                Once you get used to the lacing it's just great. At first it looked like there are laces everywhere, but then it got really easy. No problems even with water/rain/slush.
