Product Details

Flex

Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)8, perfect for all-day performance and comfort

Power Spine BackstaysThese seamless backstays allow for fine-tuned medial/lateral support, edge-to-edge response, and maximum durability.

Lightweight Power PanelsTo ensure consistent flex from day 1 to 100, this boot features strategically placed Power Panels that return to their original position even after being deeply flexed.

Fit

Firm Flex 3D® Molded TongueAdjusting the profile of the tongue’s thickness controls its flex, enhances its ability to wrap the forefoot, and reduces shell/liner stack-up for improved comfort.

Focus CuffBoosting heel-hold by hugging that sweet spot around your ankle, the Focus Cuff rides slightly higher on your ankle for increased response.

Outer Shell Pressure Relief PanelUltra-soft gel cushioning is fused to the area where the ankle strap rests on the boot for even pressure distribution when bindings are cranked tight.

Shrinkage™ Footprint Reduction TechnologyThis reduces the boot's overall footprint one size, meaning a men's size 10 fits like a size 10, but has the footprint of a typical size 9. Shorter, lighter, and sleeker means that you will never have to suffer from toe drag again.

VELCRO® Brand Fastener J-Bar InterfaceThis interface is located in the heel pocket for added support.

Total Comfort ConstructionAn instantly broken-in feel right out of the box

Liner

Imprint 4 Liner

DRYRIDE Moisture Wicking TechDRYRIDE Hyperwick™ mesh in the toe box insulates and regulates warmth by pulling moisture away from your skin, then evaporating it through a a waterproof/breathable shell membrane. Like a one-way door, the microscopic pores in this membrane allow moisture vapors to escape, while water droplets from the outside can't enter.

Heat MoldableWhether you have funky cankles or a grotesque sixth toe, your feet will be wrapped with comfort in this boot. Ride them right out of the box or shape them to your foot with Burton's EMU heat-molding system, found at your local shop.

Rad PadThis cushioning is located on the top of your instep, right where the liner laces exert the most pressure. These pre-curved panels keep your feet stoked and secure.

Sock LockThis directional fiber lining allows your feet to easily slide into place and stay in place all day.

VELCRO® Brand Fastener Liner ClosureThis secures the liner in place around your foot. J-Bar adjustable heel system slides into the heel pocket for added support.

Lacing System

Speed Zone™ LacingCustomize the fit of the upper and lower zone in seconds, allowing for a lightning fast lace up. With less effort you get more rebound, more wrap, and better response. Used by stunt men, firefighters, and rescue teams, this lace material is virtually indestructible.

Footbed

Level 3 Molded EVA Footbed with ESS Support Shank and Dual-Density Cushioning

AutoCANT CushioningThis cushioning is made with Pirelli® Rubber and Snow Tire Tread Inspired Outsole Design. The AutoCANT cushioning is a dual-density EVA that allows your foot to settle into a more natural and relaxed position, resulting in improved comfort, reduced fatigue, and smoother, more direct board control.

Aegis™ Antimicrobial CoatingInhibits foul odors

Sole

EST™ Optimized MidsoleThis low-profile midsole goes beyond normal bindings by optimizing the soles on select boots for a more direct connection. Lower-profile, lighter weight, and with a reduced ramp angle, EST lowers your center of gravity and improves feel. All without sacrificing an ounce of cushioning thanks to ultra-dampening B3 Gel inserts.

infiniFIT Liner SoleCreates a more consistent out-of-box fit that stays true-to-size by preventing pack-out

Additional Features

Snow-Proof Internal GussetFeatures internal gusset construction to completely seal the lower zone of the boot, keeping feet warm and dry

Comments about Burton Ion Snowboard Boots 2013:

Best boots you can buy, but also some of the priciest.

My feet have never felt more comfortable in a pair of snowboard boots.

I have smaller feet in a half size, and Burton is one of the companies that truly makes half size boots, instead of a thicker liner in the next size up boot. (hopefully that makes sense)

Comments about Burton Ion Snowboard Boots 2013:

I have the 2009 ions and just picked up these because no other boot fits quite like it, i love the fit and feel, the flex is great, not too stiff but definately not soft. I only got a new pair because my lacing system was pulling out of the plastic channels that are sewn in, the stitching is coming out with the channel. I looked at another boot because this design seems a bit flawed, but came back to this boot as the fit is perfect. I am going to be careful not to overtighten the lower portion, the portion I had issues with in both boots, otherwise its a perfect boot.

Comments about Burton Ion Snowboard Boots 2013:

I went from a Vans Aura Double BOA system to these and I love them so far, speed lacing is where it's at! The support for the ankle straps really takes that pressure point completely out of the picture! Also..! These things feel like shoes when you're walking... no more of that "Club foot" feel when struttin yo stuff!

The only thing that I don't like is it kind of feels like my ankle is bending to far in the boot. It may be me... and tightening my upper binding strap down sorta fixed the problem.
