Burton Driver X Snowboard Boots 2010: For riders addicted to the sounds of jacket-flapping speed, there is no alternative. Rocket-fueled response meets 5-star comfort, the Driver X propels riders up, over, and through anything with zero lag between eyes and action. If you think that perfect turns are all this boot’s about, take a peek at any one of Kazu Kokubo’s video parts—then see where that stereotype takes you.

  • Flex Rating and Fit:Flex: 10 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff). The Burton Driver X Snowboard Boots are as stiff as they come perfect for backcountry pow slashes and riders who prefer the most support possible from their boots.
  • Construction:Built with EcoStep recycled rubber and backed by nearly 70 years of mountaineering knowledge, Vibram’s EcoStep outsole provides the superior traction and snow-sensitivity Burton’s team riders know and trust. // Thin Profile 3D Molded Tongue - Adjusting the profile of the tongue’s thickness controls its flex, enhances its ability to wrap the forefoot, and reduces shell/liner stack-up for improved comfort. // The dual-density design of the Ice Spikes creates a soft, grippy outsole enhanced with stiffer spikes that dig into ice when slipping isn’t an option.
  • Liner and Lacing:Whether you have funky cankles or a grotesque sixth toe, rest assured that your feet will be wrapped with comfort in Burton’s Imprint liner. While they fit great out of the box, you can even custom mold these babies to the shape of your foot with Burton’s EMU heat-molding system, found at your local shop. // Burton uses three levels of Power Spine backstays throughout the liner to increase medial/lateral support, edge-to-edge response, and, most importantly, durability.
  • Special Features:Shrinkage Footprint Reduction Technology reduces the boot’s overall footprint one full size, meaning a size 10 boot fits like a size 10, but has the footprint of a typical size 9. Shorter, lighter, and less bulky, with Shrinkage you can finally ride the board of your dreams.

Comments about Burton Driver X Snowboard Boots 2010:

I have the 2009 version of this boot and they are very good. I think Burton has made them just slightly more stiff for 2010.

Judging my 2009 Driver X's, they are just a tiny bit less stiff (when broken in) as my old Vans Danny Kass. But a lot lighter and easier to get into.

The lacing system is cool, takes a bit of getting used to at first I prefer it greatly over laces. The liner on these are super moldable which is great if you're into that. I had a slight problem on my right (slightl larger) foot with my small toe. I don't know if it was the seam in the liner right there or what, but I powered through it a couple of times and eventually it was OK. Probably it was just poor circulation from my mid-foot to my two small toes from it being pinched in the middle of the liner. It would tend to start irritating me after 3-4 hours of riding and would have to stop and adjust and try to get that pinched feeling to go away. My advice is, don't overtighten the speed lace on the liner when lacing up, then tighten each boot top and bottom zone, one at a time. If it still feels too loose when you're about to strap in, tighten the individual zone just a bit more then you're good to go.

Vibram sole is a nice feature too. So if you like stiff kicks which aren't too heavy and Burton is your thing, these are the boots for you.
