Union Charger Snowboard Bindings 2014

Union bindings are back at it again, creating a legend in the making with the new Union Charger Snowboard Bindings. Like always the Stage III Atlas Base comes standard with a lifetime warranty against all-defects. Built stronger than ever these bindings come with magnesium buckles, full carbon highbacks and CNC machined aluminum heelcups - those are just a few of the multitude of strength-adding features on the Charger. Bring the power back with a lighter, more-responsive binding in a sleek, sexy package.
Baseplate
Stage III Atlas Base - This base is made of Dupont™ Zytel® ST and is guaranteed against breakage with a lifetime warranty

Carbon-Injected Dupont™ Zytel® ST - The highest-quality nylon, used on all Union baseplates, results in strength, safety, security and the confidence of a lifetime warranty.
Injected EVA Bushings - They dampen vibrations underfoot to promote a more comfortable ride and a smooth, even board flex with no dead spots. Each size comes with its own durometer for custom performance.
Straps
All-New 3D Direct-Connect Strap System - Multi-Layer Tapered Strap Core evenly distributes pressure.
Multi-Layered Tapered Strap Core
Magnesium Buckles - The magnesium in the buckles is four times the strength of aluminum with only half the weight. Plus, it is easily recycled.
All-New Toe Buckle System - Multi-positional options with open Ultra Grip™ Design
All-New Open Toe Straps - Multi-positional options with open Ultra Grip™ Design
All-New Toe Cup Design - Holds better to your boots for consistent control and also moves vertically for multiple boot-to-strap positions.

Highback
Full Carbon Highbacks - Durable and responsive highbacks made fully from carbon offer the best in control.

Shift-on-the-Fly Forward Lean - Quick and easy to use, adjust your forward lean with a simple flip of a knob then slide it to wherever you want and re-lock it. Easily done while waiting in those pesky lift lines.
Additional Features
All-New CNC Machined 3D Aluminum Heelcups - The absolute lightest and strongest in snowboarding, these are made by a process that removes material to reduce weight but maintain strength.

Universal Disks - Compatible with any traditional 4x4 mounting system and 3-hole board patterns. Channel Compatible Disc is available separately from Union to fit Burton snowboards with The Channel.
Grade 8.8 Hardware - The most commonly used hardware is made from "mild steel" that has a property class of only 4.6. Considering how much stress a binding goes through, Union uses only the highest-strength steel, with a property class of 8.8.

Specs

  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Flex Rating: Very Stiff
    Very Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
