Product Details

Flex

Stiff flex for powerful control

Baseplate

V-Rod BaseplateA V-shaped baseplate with a "rod" of edge-to-edge contact limits the binding's footprint on the board, which delivers three things: natural board flex, greater binding flexibility side-to-side, and full power from toe to heel. You get the perfect blend of flex with pop.

SubBase V-PadPartnered with the V-Rod baseplate, the 3D profile of the EVA and rubber sub-base pad fills the lifted corners of the baseplate, creating cushioning for the smoothest side-to-side flex while allowing for a dampening barrier between the baseplate and topsheet.

Straps

PF Adjust Ankle StrapUltimate customization with two interchangeable EVA inserts for three options of stiffness: extremely flexible, very supportive, and ultra supportive. Designed for the rider who readily adjusts bindings for versatility.

Auto StrapRome's signature idea using an elastic band to hold the ankle straps out of the footbed until you are ready to strap in.

ConformGrip Toe StrapOvermolded TPR grips the toe of your boot for comfort and control, while conforming seamlessly to all models on the market.

Highback

Targa AntiShock HighbackDesigned specifically for Targa bindings with a built-in suspension system where the top section flexes up to 3 degrees before locking out to reduce vibration and absorb shock and the middle bushing acts as a dampening system. This binding is designed for the most aggressive riders.

Additional Features

Yes, I Can't SystemCanting gives you more comfortable wide stances for more power over your nose and tail. Go with 2 degrees or 3.5 degrees of canting, or run 0 degrees if you want to go traditional.

UnderWRap.3 Heel HoopDesigned for the Targa binding this heel hoop is cored out as much as possible for maximum lightness.

Comments about Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings 2014:

The Targas are amazing. This is my second set. After a nasty crash and spleen removal, I was able to get in a day of fresh 5 wks after surgery. I let my buddy use my board...he's a no0b and thought he knew how to butter = obliterated my '11 Targas.

I didn't even have to debate buying another of the exact same bindings. I had a few issues with base plates/clasps, and the awesome people at Rome were more than happy to accommodate!

Comments about Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings 2014:

These bindings are really nice. Excellent hold and insanely adjustable. If you don't know how to set up your bindings so your foot is centered on your board, the massive amount of adjustability could make it hard. I love being able to tinker and get it just right. The only con is that the canted foot beds require a single screw to remove, and you have to take them out to adjust your stance width and angle. other than that no complaints. Killer, strong, light and look good (Evo was out of the red so I got black on black, red is cooler).

Comments about Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings 2014:

      THE GOOD:
A slew of adjustment options means you can get them perfectly dialed in to your boots AND your riding style. The canting options and strap stiffness adjustment are great ideas. Helpful, although probably not something you'll play with once you leave the house. These are super comfortable! Hold the boot tight with no pressure points and some very nice padding. They also offer a very supportive highback that has just a tiny bit of give to it. ...and of course autostrap rules.

      THE LESS GOOD:
The forward lean adjustment is actually a tiny screw head under the black cube on the highback.
Although super adjustable, the asymmetric design of the baseplate makes moving the heelcup pretty tough. I also found the Strap pads extremely hard to change out. I feel like the instructions could have been a bit more helpful given there are so many adjustment oprions with the Targa. Lastly, I am pretty sure because of the highback these come in about 60gm heavier than the 390 Boss. This of course means they are heavier than many other options (flux etc).

      CONCLUSION:
These are a super comfortable binding with solid edge to edge response and great buy for under $300. There is more space for personal preference with these than with most other bindings. Serious padding, which also comes at the price of a higher weight. The Targa is a great stiffer all-mountain/softer big mountain binding which can also be tweeked for a day at the park.

Comments about Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I have several different sets of Rome bindings and these by far are my most favorite. You can adjust the stiffness of the binding from soft to very stiff via rubber inserts that go into the ankle strap. This allows the softness for laps in the park or powerful for back country. The Targas also come with three different canted foot beds which are great at reducing foot fatigue and provide support to the knees.

Comments about Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings 2014:

This binding is the most underrated binding on the market. Its adjustability is matched by no one. Its consistent ratchet system is great. The price could easily be $300+ and i would still buy it. I have ridden this binding in 2 feet of Whistler pow to the ice runs and parks of the East Coast, it has never failed. Once its dialed in you will never think about your bindings again. This is my second set in 4 years. And I still ride my originals. Now if this is your first set, prepare for some aggravation to get to that dialed in stage. I was able to copy my original settings and it took me 40 minutes to get them set and mounted. Use a ratchet with the CORRECT size bit and the screws will loosen with no issues. The autostrap is works great. I wish they kept the 2 piece cant system though. Buy this binding!
