Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2012

One of the most popular bindings in the line up, the Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings are even Rick Ross’ go-to snowboard binding. Cause baby, he’s a Boss. You get awesome edge to edge power with the V-Rod baseplate, and canting customization for even more power and comfort. Adjust the forward lean if you want some more support or board fell, and you’ll be the boss of your hill in no time.
Baseplate
V-Rod Baseplates - Delivers a narrow footprint diagonally across the baseplate to give a natural board flex and maximum tweakability.
The SubBase V-Pad - Reduces vibrations to enhance board feel. UnderWrap.2 Heel Hoop gives you unmatched toe-to-heel power without unwanted side-to-side stiffness.
Straps
ConFormist.2 Toe Straps - Made to be low-profile for better feel, and none of that excess material to possibly catch. Wear it over the top of over the toe, your choice.
Contour Ankle Straps - Just cush and offers mid-level support for higher levels of tweakage.
Highback
390 Asym Highback - Lightweight with a mid-flexing back. The highback is anatomically correct to give you better support and contoured to the spine of your boot for better feel.
Additional Features
Yes I Cant System - Gives you 3 interchangeable cant pads for anatomically correct wide stances and different levels of nose-and-tail power.

I have last years Rome 390 Boss bindings, and it appears that nothing has really changed for this season. First the good, (and to be honest there is mostly good). These are the most comfortable bindings I have ever owned. They are very adjustable, easy to get in and out of and completely "preasure point" free. The 2 degree canting seems perfect for everyday riding, the other options seem almost too severe, but those of you rocking a very wide stance in the park may dissagree. These bindings are damp and absorb shock very well. The mid flex seems perfect, not too stiff but with plenty of response for powering in and out of turns. My only complaint, and it's not that big of a deal, is that the paint on these bindings chips off almost immediately. Rome's warranty is very good, they will send you new highbacks if you can't live with the cosmetic issues resulting from their paint, but honestly....who cares? These are great bindings.

Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to adjust these the first time you put them on your board -- there's so much to adjust and customize its a little overwhelming. But it makes for an awesome fit. I've never had more comfortable bindings.

Comments about Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2012:

Let me just start off saying these bindings are amazing. They work perfectly for parks and jumps. They are extremely comfortable and at the same time very responsive. I can't count the number of times I've landed a jump off balance to have these bindings save me. They take the impact so smoothly. They are not only the perfect flex for hitting the parks but also riding the entire mountain. The responsiveness and comfort allow one to ride speedy yet not out of control. I researched bindings for weeks before buying them and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Not to mention they are within a reasonable price range.

i was really excited to use these bindings because of all of the great reviews but when i tried my 32 boots in them, the bindings Were too narrow and i had to return them. They looked great and were extremely adjustable. I know that burton boots ft with them but i ended up getting burton bindings. They would probably be great if i had diefferent boots.

Infinetly adjustable, solid construction, very very comfortable. So comfortable it took some getting used to, I'm used to crushing my feet in "bear trap" like bindings. Medium Flex. The "Cant" plates are a great addition, allowing you to have a wide stace without feeling bowlegged.

Comments about Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2012:

These binding are awesome. Quick easy in and easy out. Comfy ankle strap; toe strap stays in place when cranked down. Adjustability features like cant degrees from 0, 2, 3.5 and high back rotation. Metal contruction and nice matte black finish.

What I don't like is that the finish chips and scratches easily. The high back adjustment allen screw backed out easily changing my setting to full 90 mid run on my left binding

But who the hell cares! This binding is super comfy and the look of the binding will not change the way it rides, which is the important thing. And screws can be easily tighten. I'm going to put a small drop of blue locktite on them so they will never backout again.

The high back adjustment would come loose and the straps would some times come loose but other then that they seem to be good quality

These bindings have a ton of adjustment so it will take you a while to get them set up just right. Now that they are I can't imagine going back to less adjustable bindings. The yes I cant system is great. I liked it best with 3.5 degree pads. After I got it dialed in I put the 0 degree pads in to see how it felt and it was way more natural feeling with the 3.5 degree canted pads. Another good thing about the pads is that they get your boot up off the board a bit more. People with big feet and not so wide boards will love the extra clearance before you drag a heal or toe. As I knew by reading other reviews the paint will chip off pretty easy but I bought these to ride not to look at.

Comments about Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2012:

I just mounted them on my new board yesterday. The manual looks complicated. But after I carefully read it, it's not that difficult to follow. Actually, I am pretty happy with the seemingly complicated design. It means they are more adjustable. The build quality is superb. My old Burton Freestyle bindings looked so cheap compared with this pair. (well, maybe it's not a fair comparison since Burton Freestyle is a low-end product). They feel very comfortable too.

Disclaimer: I haven't ridden these yet

These are my second pair of rome 390's. The last pair i owned i rode for 5 years solid (i would still be riding them if I didn't slam the highback on a log slide). In that time I've ridden ride, drake, flow, and burton bindings on my buddies boards... and they all pale in comparison. I get nothing but compliments on how they feel and the response they facilitate between rider and board. The underwrap baseplate allows for lightweight, rigid construction while still giving that lightning-fast edge to edge transitions. Plus the straps are turbo-comfortable. I crank em down TIGHT every run and never get arch fatigue etc..
