I am really impressed by the quality and durability of these bindings. I've been out 4 times on the Ride EX in weather conditions ranging from 0 degrees to 45 degrees and have not noticed any racheting problems or fragility. I have broken a number of bindings over the past 22 years due to my agressive style and am always aprehensive about new gear. The lightweight Ride EX survived 3 straight days of brutality at Mammoth and receives my seal of approval. Here are some of my objective observations:

* Every part of the binding is adjustable, so take the time to get the best boot fit.

* The little ramp in the toe piece added additional power to front-side turns

* The binding provides great overall control even when loosely racheted (I prefer mine a little loose)

* Good solid mounting hardware with groved washers that prevent loosening and shearing

* Usable, light boot leash. Unusable stomp pad

Best value for the price. Go for it!

A good looking binding and a nice price. Unfortunately after the second week of using, the binding release button snapped off when I fell on a groomer. Now its nearly impossible to unstrap everyday and I need it for work. (I'm a lifty) Will be returning under warranty and hope next one doesnt break. Pressure point on toes are bad and seem to have to re-tighten every few stops.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2007:

I'm a beginner and have used these bindings on 4 occasions so far. They are nice looking bindings. What I like about these bindings is that it has a gas pedal for your toes (a raised platform where your toes go). The biggest advantage of this (for me) is that a large footed rider can ride a narrower board. I ride a board with a waist width of 255mm and have size 13 boots. With some careful adjustment, you can avoid pretty much all heel and toe drag. There are some problems I have had with the strap system and also the adjustability of the highback. When I'm finished with a run and try to undo my toe straps, often times I will have to pry the strap off. I've also noticed that the straps aren't as smooth flowing as other binding straps. With the highback, one usually wants to have it parallel with the edge of the board (for the best transfer of energy and control). However if you ride anything more than +- 15 degrees, you probably won't get it parallel and will be sacrificing some control. They are adjustable, but not fully, like it's advertised to be. There are only three notches to adjust the highback. Other than that, they are decent bindings. I probably would hesitate on buying them for [$]as other great bindings go on sale [$].

Sweet bindings! I love how the toe strap can go either on top of the toe or in front of it like a cap strap. Also very sturdy and solid. Made of metal not plastic so won't easily break. So many things that can be adjusted for personal fit preferences. Sick binding! LOVE IT!

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2007:

Started off uprading to Ride Team Bindings but because of my size 13.5 boots I could never get these centered on the board. There was just not enough heel cup adjustment. The Ride EX's work great if you have big feet. They adjust out to size 15. Never thought I'd like the strap that goes over the toe but I think it works great. It is more comfortable than the strap going across the front of the foot with not noticable difference in performance.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2007:

The straps loosen themself's. The toe strap has a cover which catches easily on trees and branches. They are too narrow for other company's boots. This makes it impossible to adjust the back. The springs in the buckles don't last either. Everyone I talk to that has them, has said the same. I got about 50 days out of them.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Binding 2007:

These are great bindings for the price. I have ridden them in powder, on groomers at speed, and off some small jumps and they perfromed great in all situations. The ratchets were a bit sticky for the first 3x I unstrapped but were smooth by lunch the first day. The toe strap takes some adjustment to prevent friction points.

Terrific binding, very comfortable, secure, and light. Much better than any of the rental bindings I've used, from clickers to standard.

The convertible toe-strap/cap is a nice touch as it gives some flexibility about how you strap in and how much motion your foot gets.
