I have tried all types of bindings and nothing holds up better than Ride. I usually break the straps or ratchets on bindings and thats what moved me to Ride. They use aluminum for the everything except the straps. Some people might list the weight as being heavy but I have never noticed it while riding so I say "man up" if you think any binding is heavy. They are built to last that's why they are heavy. I still have an old pair of preston ex bindings on my street board!

As much as I have enjoyed Ride bindings, this particular pair failed me. I went through three pairs in less than one season. they broke in a different place every time too. I really wanted to like these bindings because they felt good and performed well for the most part, but due to the unreliability of them, i would just say no.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Bindings 2009:

First time getting out of step-in (switch) - bindings fit well around new 32 lashed boots. They are not the lightest bindings and the ratchet release sticks at times (have to hit it) but got on sale for [$] and so was a terrific intermediate product at an entry level price. So long as the components don't break. I won't be needing to upgrade unless my skills suddenly improve.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Bindings 2009:

Great binding, I'm just starting out. Very easy to strap in/out once adjusted to your boot. Aluminum design provides solid strength for any use. Only gripe is that it seems a little narrow near the toe - I had bought a pair of DC's to ride with and the boot was too wide, ended up exchanging for a more narrow Burton, so make sure everything fits before you buy!! Overall, thought, I would still recommend.

    Service and delivery comments:

Awesome prices! Delivery could have been a tiny bit faster, but since I'm on the east coast I can't complain too much. I guess we all want instant gratification.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Bindings 2009:

I purchased these bindings at the end of the season to replace a pair that broke, and they held up well for a couple days on the mountain. Pretty comfortable, but the quick adjustment mechanisms on the straps are flawed. The screws are too short, and thus the latch tends to pop out when you try to clamp it down. I ended up having to ride with the small adjusters clamped upside down, which works, but is clearly not how it was designed.

Comments about Ride EX Snowboard Bindings 2009:

I am an intermediate rider and I stick to the blues. I don't get up a lot of speed or anything. I wear size 13 boots and ride a wide board, so I needed good, sturdy bindings.

These bindings do the job perfectly. They are easily adjustable (straps and mounting to the board), easy to understand. The highbacks don't rotate, but that's not a feature I was looking for anyway since I'm not into really high-speed carving.

My boots fit perfectly in the bindings, it's not a struggle to get them in, but there isn't any wasted space in there.

Overall, great value for these guys, they are sturdy and well-made and easy on the feet.

I was going up on the lift and when I got to the top noticed that my top strap had completely fallen off . . .the screw came out after just two runs down the mountain (basically hills where Im from).
