The Raiden Phantom is their pro level, high performance, comic book hero freestyle binding. The new profiled asym ergo cut ankle straps provide highly ergonomic comfort and support. Flex
Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - 7, a stiff flex for advanced riders looking for more response
Baseplate
FTI EVO 2 Air Chassis - Double Air technology meets FTI. Huge cut-outs for airbags in the toe and heel shave weight and a new coring pattern enhances strength and response. Super cush EVA padding and all features known from FTI chassis, such as stance fine adjustment or quick heelcup micro adjustments are available on all versions.
2x4 Mini Disc - The weight of the disc has been reduced using a fiber-reinforced composite material, allowing the binding to be mounted and micro-adjusted on any common 2x4 insert pattern. The smaller disc means more space to cushion your ride without sacrificing adjustability while the small mounting footprint combined with a slightly softer material significantly reduces the bindings impact on the board flex.
Straps
Profiled Asym Ergo Cut Ankle Strap with Flex Window - Raiden developed an asymetrical shape for more medial flex for freestyle riding while supporting the lateral side of the boot. Combined with a tapered thickness profile, this strap is the ultimate in control and freedom.
Revert Window Toe Strap - The Revert toe strap construction nicely follows the shape of any boots toe box. Wear it in front of your boot, using the window to help pull the foot back and down or traditionally over the top of the boot.
Forged Speedwheel Alumnium Buckles - The strongest and lightest aluminum lever construction and the smoothness of a composite Speedwheel makes the buckles work like a dream and last forever.
Cable Ratchets - The Raiden team loves the cable connector for its durability and zero stretch. Now you can benefit from the same concept on the ratchet side. Stainless steel cables are over molded inside the tongue - no more stretch, no more breaks.
Cable Connector - The cable connector features an internal stainless steel cable to eliminate stretch and breakage while retaining full flexibility and tool free adjustment.
LSD (Ladder Speed Device) Alignment - This little buddy aligns your ladders right into the buckles for an ultra fast, precise bite of your buckles. You will trip out over how fast they work.
Highback
Asym X Beam Highback - The taller X Beam highback gives a fine tuned response at high speed and support for unmatched comfort.
Additional Features
Raiden Dual Air Dampening - The Dual AIR concept has shock absorbing qualities from heel airbags to the toe while significantly reducing the weight of the binding. FEA optimized cushion columns provide support and response you can count on. During hard landings, the dampeners collapse and efficiently absorb energy, while an additional gel insert in the heel eliminates high frequency vibration.

  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Flex Rating: Stiff
    Stiff
The amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers' number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
