Raiden Blackhawk Bindings 2009: The Raiden Blackhawk Binding is just as tough and technically-sound as its namesake, yet still light enough to get you off the ground. Flying through the park and shooting off kickers is easy when you have extra padding in the straps and highback that keep you riding harder for longer. The Blackhawk is for the true snowboarder that spends more time riding than chillaxin’ in the lodge. From lay back slashes to snaking claimers in the park, the Blackhawk is one of the most versatile bindings in the Raiden line.

I've been riding these bindings for 5 months through every terrain available in Utah's mountains. They have held up through powder, tree lines, park riding, downhill racing on groomer days and 25 foot cornice jumps. They are extremely adjustable from the highback to the straps, durable, light, responsive and very rarely come loose. I've got these on a K2 Slayblade and together they make for the best board I've ever ridden. I would recomend these bindings to anyone from beginner to pro level riders.

Initially I was very pleased with these bindings - comfortable, light, and look very nice. However, I have now had 3 separate problems with parts breaking on these bindings. And when things break, you can expect the folk at the repair shop on the mountain to scratch their head and not recognize this brand, nor have parts available. I strongly recommend looking for something of better quality. I also recommend getting a better known brand so you won't be stuck on the mountain without any spare parts. One of the bits that broke for me was one of the straps on the non-buckle side, which has a very small cross section, and other brands straps won't fit.The design aspect where the mounting plate is covered by another plate which you have to unscrew and then slide off is ill-conceived. For one, it's annoying to have to unscrew and slide it off when you need to adjust your binding position. Secondly, it has two *tiny* plastic tabs which slip into a channel to to hold on the front - these snapped off for me on one of them, - not a great surprise since the cross section is about 1/8"x 1/4" of regular plastic, quite delicate.[...]

A critical piece of info that is in the physical owner's manual but not on the online sizing chart: The chart applies to Nitro boots only! So, for example, a size 10 K2 boot does NOT fit the medium Raiden bindings.

Comments about Raiden Blackhawk Bindings 2009:

I got these with my first board, so these are my first bindings. They seem like they will last a while and they are pretty darn light. They are very adjustable and I have tweaked them so they fit me perfectly. I've only used them twice though (wrecked badly in second time out cause of ice), so I can't really report too much.

Great all mountain binding. Stiff, solid and comfortable. Slightly heavy but comparable to my Ride SPI's. I ride these on my toes verses top and way more secure/comfortable then the Rides.
