Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I had been eyeing these bindings for quite some time. I finally decided to buy them and I'm glad I did! They're easy to attach to snowboard and the quick entry feature is great for riders wanting to minimize the time preparing for the slopes.

Only negatives: takes quite a bit of time adjusting the first time, but then again, that should be the only time you adjust.
Also, the lower adjustment strap (just the plastic piece, not the ratchet) can slide through the bottom of binding if not in the perfect spot. But once you adjust and mount to board, you shouldn't have a problem.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Flow bindings (I've had 4 pairs) are so convenient and comfortable that I can't understand why people still use strap-in bindings.

They take a few days to dial in and get used to. You put them on standing up, facing into the slope, rather than sitting on your butt, which is a plus right there. Superfast on, which is great for hiking. Comfortable: it spreads out the pressure to your whole foot, rather than just at the strap points.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2014:

After 2 seasons of using rental equipment, I finally decided to purchase my own board and bindings. I did quite a bit of research and settled on 2014 The Five ("Stormtrooper" variation). This is the best Flow model that you can buy before getting into what I consider the expert-level bindings with aluminum chassis and $200+ price tags.

I am only a casual rider who doesn't really attempt anything fancier than basic nose rolls and ollies. So that is the basis for my review. After 3 outings, I have no complaints with The Five. After using them I realize that the rear-entry feature only saves a few seconds compared to standard strap-ins. And it's not always preferable depending on where you are on the mountain. That's why I really like that Flow added the LSR buckles for 2014 -- I always have both entry options.

A couple of other things I will point out. I didn't notice any reduced control as a result of not having standard toe straps. It was fine for me. And for those riders who really want rear-entry, I would lean toward Flows over Gnu and Roxy. Flow is it own company with its own complete binding design, customer support and parts replacement. But Gnu and Roxy are licensees of the Fastec binding system. If for instance, you break a toe strap (like my friend did with her Roxys) you can get a replacement, but you cannot call Fastec directly. You must call Gnu or Roxy and the process is a (minor) hassle. Also, I am told that Flow uses some retail board/ski shops as certified dealers who are capable of performing repairs on the spot.

                Hope this helps.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Bought these for my son and he loves them. Once they were set to the boots he has he gets into them out out very quickly, no sitting on the snow, just click them up and ready to go. Now he waits for his brother, when it used to be the other way around. Got them for Christmas and has been using them the last couple of weeks and is very happy he decided to try the flows.
