Flow's design on these are one of the better one's you will find in a rear-entry binding. I only had a few problems:

1. One of the end peices of the straps snapped, so I had to tighten that side a bit. Still works, but it's poor construction to have it break after only a few uses.

2. Can't tighten to much or rear-entry doesn't work. For those of you that like to tighten your bindings, if you do it too much when you try to slide your boot in it won't fit so you have to loosen and re-tighten.

3. The design of the toe strap is a little off and it can't be adjusted since it's connected to the over the foot part. It goes way too low over the toe at times.

Everything else about the binding is superb. The shock resistance could be a bit better, but it is in no way bad. I love these bindings and wouldn't trade it in for anything. Most of my friends need to sit down and strap in and they are just starting while I have been going for a while. Saves a ton of time.

I snow patrol, and bought these to replace an old pair of flows that I broke. I am constantly removing my board and strapping it back on, and the SE looked ideal, as my old flow bindings were not easy to get in and out of on steep terrain or in deep snow. These bindings feel good, but just don't cut it for hard riding. The toe straps don't stay in place and they don't hold your boots firmly to the board.
Unlike the other flow bindings I owned you have to loosen and tighten the straps every time you strap in. In the end I swapped them with the old pair of Burton Missions off my backup board, they aren't as fast to get into, but they work.

Comments about Flow The Five SE Snowboard Bindings 2013:

The Hybrid PowerCapStrap is surprisingly snug and fits comfortably across my boot. The toe cap/stop seems to hold up well. I've been out riding over 10 days this season in all different conditions on powder, slush, frozen granular, ice, rain, etc... and these bindings are holding up very well. I like these straps better than Flow's traditional straps!

One thing I will say about Flow bindings is that you absolutely must take your time to properly install the bindings on your board. The adjustments to the high back, cable, and front strap are really important if you want to ensure a good fit and easy entry. Read the instructions or at least watch a video on YouTube so you know how to adjust/tune your bindings. Most of the complaints about how boots get caught on the high back, bindings never feels snug, etc. are mostly due to poor installation... been there... done that! So take your time and do it right! You'll enjoy the ride in the end!

Comments about Flow The Five SE Snowboard Bindings 2013:

This is my second Flow binding. I had the traditional back entry with single large strap over the shoe laces. I wanted to see how it felt using a strap over the toes.

It definitely takes getting used to but it doesn't take long. The back entry is still great and with the added toe strap there is more adjustments that can be made to snug your boot. It was advertised you could enter the binding through the rear as traditionally done or through the side where you'd keep the back support engaged and just disengage the upper foot strap. That did not prove easy to get used to. I basically just went back to rear entry.

Overall good quality. Great idea but needs some tweaking. Maybe NX-2 is easier to use as the upper boot straps pivot up as you lower the high back (see the Flow video).

One other thing is I wear a size 10 boot and even though a Large for this binding can accomodate up to size 11, my boot barely fits into the toe strp. I'm not sure if it will fit better if I bought Flow boots as mine are Solomon. I also did not try an X-large Flow binding as I thought it'd probably be too large but definitely worth looking into if you want to purchase this binding.

Comments about Flow The Five SE Snowboard Bindings 2013:

Great bindings overall. If it wasn't for these two cons I would give 5/5 stars. 1. The high back get stuck on the sole of my boot when trying to release. It got so bad it tore the glue off my sole and I had to repair it 2. The toe strap sometimes slips and needs to be more adjustable. Other than that, the bindings were great. ~ one tip on fixing the high back issue is to cut the plastic it catches on, it will make it so it doesn't not so it any more.

Not a huge fan. These bindings are the first I've ever had where my boot actually came out while carving a turn. I'm normally a fan of Flow. I've had a pair of Elevens for years, but these don't seem as well constructed. Perhaps it's because they're trying to be both a normal and a Flow style binding. The toe strap seems flimsy, too.

I wouldn't buy these again. I'm looking to replace the ones I have.

My boots fit great into this binding. I have k2 darko boots. I was very comfortable in them and it was tight. The front toe strap i was having problems with, it kept slipping underneath my boot, after a couple runs i adjusted it and got used to the correct settings. They are kind of hard to get into with the rear entry when you don't loosen both straps. Its easy to get used to the system after a while.

Comments about Flow The Five SE Snowboard Bindings 2013:

These bindings really surprised me. Easy to set up, Easy to get into and out of (once broken in). Comfortable. Just enough tweak for me. I haven't had a single issue with them on the three days I've had them on the board and out this season. Boots are glued into the bindings and the board feel is much better than my old set. Great bindings from Flow! The only reason these babies don't get a 5 star rating, is simply because if you're looking for the best of the best, Flow has better out there. However for the price, get you sum!

First, I have to say, I did not purchase these at EVO, I found them cheaper at another retailer, my bad, I just learned of EVO's price match, oh well. This binding was paired with my Burton Joystick and K2 "New Black" boots (Darko). EXCEPTIONAL response toe to heel. I rock 8 Flow bindings on all of my boards. This is by far, the best one for me. So if your on the fence, let me push you over it. Tough and tight. I will be buying another pair from EVO in the next few weeks for my "back up" board.

If you want to spend more time sitting on the cold snow to fidget with expensive bindings that don't perform, then these bindings aren't for you. The best thing about these bindings (and any flow bindings) is that you can strap up on the lift and ride away. I mean, c'mon you've been waiting minutes on end to get off the freaking chairlift.....why stop the FLOW of things when you get off the lift, you've got some good jams going and let's face it...stopping to sit on your butt and strap up is a real buzz kill. Carpe diem.

Picked these up in the red color scheme with a Nitro Prime Propaganda board and some DC Phase boots. I really like them. The only thing that I sort of didn't like on these was that I felt like I had to sort of place the toe strap when stepping in. No biggie but unlike the other flows where you step in and flip up the back, I had to sort of make sure the toe strap was in the right place before flipping up the back. But the feel is great on these and that' one thing isn't enough to make me say I'm unhappy with them. I think if I had a chance to buy again, I'd probably just buy the Five without the toe strap or one of the standard Flow bindings.
