Flex

Flex Rating: 8 (1 Soft - 10 Very Stiff)A stiff flex for advanced to expert riders looking for a stable and responsive binding.

Baseplate

Aluminum Alloy Rockered BaseplateEngineered to transmit energy directly to the board without loss of efficiency. The minimized contact area with the board channels your power where it needs to go while the rockered corners of the baseplate allow any type of board to maintain optimal flex.

OC Kush BasepadOC-Kush cushioning dampens landings and absorbs chatter. Featured on the NX2 series in the OC-Kush basepad, which fits perfectly to the rockered baseplate shape for efficient energy transfer. Some NX2 and Fuse series models feature an OC-Kush toe and keep impact inserts for additional comfort.

BankBedsBankBeds are full-length EVA-footbeds with 2.5 degree canting for optimized fit, support, and energy transfer. Featured on the NX2, Fuse, and ISIS series.

Straps

Active Strap TechnologySpeedEntry has never been more convenient without sacrificing the superior performance, comfort and power transmission that Flow bindings are famous for. With their revolutionary New Active Strap Technology (N.A.S.T.Y.), the strap automatically lifts you up when you open the reclining hiback and actively tightens again when you close the hiback. N.A.S.T.Y. reduces friction and creates more room so that getting in and out of your binding is faster and easier than ever.

Fusion Power StrapThe Fusion PowerStrap is 3D-shaped, fuses the ankle and toe zones over the midfoot, and is padded for a super comfortable form-fit to your boot. This PowerStrap provides maximum support and energy transmission.

LSR BucklesThese innovative LockingSlapRatchet buckles give you the option to easily get in and out of your bindings any which way you like, whether SpeedEntry or SideEntry.

Highback

ModBack Hiback with Aluminum Alloy HeelcupThe modular hibacks separate the lower and upper zones for targeted strength, support, and flex where you need it. On the NX2, Fuse, and ISIS series, the lower zone also automatically triggers N.A.S.T.Y.

Flow makes a number of styles of bindings. Do not buy the flow flight line or any of the cheaper bindings since they do not hold up and are way too flexible for even a beginner. You need to spend the $$ and get the good ones which are incredible. As an instructor it is a no brainer to get in and out of them quickly, but they are also lightweight and when correctly adjusted are among the stiffest, most responsive on the market. With a size 14 boot I don't see the addition of the toe cap straps as a plus, just another couple mm's bewtween toe drag even with a wide board and ducked out setup so I was happy with these. I have owned the M9 series and NXT series for years and have yet to have one of them break or fail with 100+ days on snow annually. Buy these and take the time to fully adjust them so they are very firm when you pop the back up. Also make sure you are using a high quality boot with these and you will be amazed at the level of comfort and control they provide.

I'm a fairly middling boarder; I stick to the red runs. I bought these to replace some old Burton step-ins I'd had for the last 10 years, because I fancied a change but have enjoyed the convenience of simple bindings.

However, on the NX2s I find I can't kick my (Salomon) boot in far enough to lift the highback, so I have to loosen the upper first, which kind of defeats the purpose. I'm at the upper end of the boot size for the L binding, but still, you'd want a snug fit for any boot, so that shouldn't matter. (Getting out of the bindings is pretty easy, but that's secondary frankly.)

So I think while it seems a solid binding, the convenience isn't really there to justify it; next time I'll probably just try normal bindings. Maybe you'll have better luck if you also buy Flow boots, or if you're at the lower end of the boot size for the binding.

One last thing - they don't come with a leash, so be sure to buy one if you don't have one.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I like the addition of the ratchets. Ratchet in once, set up the back and then you are good to go. Can have them as a step in or as a traditional binding. Theses are very stiff bindings and will help you carve real hard.
One drawback I found with these bindings is they feel real cheaply made. May not be the case while using them but out of the box you feel like you just bought a tonka toy. These don't look as rugged as the first generation Flow's I bought. Hopefully these last as long as my first pair.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Just returned from a 4 day trip to Salt Lake. Visited Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton. I purchased the bindings the week before the trip, but had everything setup to ride. The bindings are great and I could not ask for a better product. This is my first pair of Flow bindings and now I'm sold on their bindings for life. Easy to adjust to fit any boot type and love the quick entry. I used a size 10 DC Judge 2014 boa boots with these bindings. The fit was great and I never had an issue with the straps locking my boot to the binding. I did all mountain riding, but did not spend time in the parks. I did drops and jumps on the mountain and the bindings held their own on all terrains.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I discussed rear-entry bindings with many better boarders. Some made comments like how fast they could get in and out of regular bindings. Let me tell you these bindings are lightning fast and rock solid. It's a single motion: step in and snap. No sitting down. No threading straps. There is no way anyone could put on two straps faster than I can lock my binding. I have seen none of the cons they warned me about. I think most of them had only used the earlier design; the newer cam action that opens the straps really makes it easy to step in. I have had no problems. They are the best bindings by far that I have owned or rented.

Being an older rider 53, the convenience of entry and exit are what I was hoping for, I'm still getting used to dialing in my boots. I've now ridden them 10 days this season. So far 2 thumbs up. Also Flow customer service deserves a 10 plus rating they have been great!

I've been a Flow fan for years and currently owed 2 pairs of Flow bindings. The AT series (NXT, NX2) of Flow is always highly rated and rightly so. NX2-AT keeps the traditional design which I prefer.

Once you set it right, it's easy in & out, very compfortable. Adjustability to fit weather conditions is a great improvement compared to previous series. It may take you sometime to get used to all of its functionality, but when you do you'll love this product.

The rear entry binding saves time strapping in. I was concerned the moving parts would weaken the overall construction of the binding but it is extremely durable. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a durable rear entry binding.

Upgraded to these from an older pair of entry level flows that where about ten years old. Great upgrade. Lighter, more adjustments to get a great fit, great response on the mountain, and feel very light.
It takes a little time to get set up right the first time on the board, and on the mtn. But after that, you can strap in, in no time flat.
The new Nasty system really helps get you in and out.

                        Great set of bindings.

These bindings are great! Mounted on my gnu Danny kass they are a blast. Extremely comfortable and really feel like they are part of the board not to mention they look amazing. Big upgrade from my burton missions. I would recommend these to anyone looking for all around great bindings.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I had an old pair of the Flow Flite IIIs that I was looking to replace when building a new setup this year. While I liked the speed of entry of the old Flow's, I really outgrew them as I improved as a snowboarder. I found that I had better control on traditional bindings (like Burton Cartels) and that it was hard for me to get a good carve on. I was a bit hesitant to try the new models, but the reviews and write-ups really convinced me that they fixed the old Flow's problems. Notably, the problems were that the fit was never tight enough and they were difficult to adjust on the fly.

I'm excited to say that the NX2s ROCK HARD. They fit on my Burton Custom Flying V easily and the fit/control that I received was fantastic. The tightening that you get from the ratchet straps and the tightening on the heel is really good. I'll still be able to keep up with my skier friends without having to sacrifice control.

Quick and easy to mount with any board. The NASTY system makes rear exit a snap as the whole binding reclines so you can slide in and out while your friends strap in on their butts. No sacrifice in stiffness or hold. These babies are the real deal!

These are great bindings, but I did not have as much luck as my friends have with them. They are designed so you can get in and out by just flipping the back up and down. What I've experienced though is that in order to get in or out I have to loosen the straps a little. Granted, they make it very easy to do so. All in all they *can* be faster than regular bindings, but definitely not until you have used them several times. Don't expect to just slip in and out and go on your first few times out.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I haven't used them yet - It's still September in Southern California, I just got back from surfing in trunks, so... I'm writing this review so that I get entered in a contest. They seem solid, I have a pair of Flow "Team" bindings with a magnesium base that I've had from approximately 12 years - those still work. The fact that the foot piece lifts up is a nice improvement. I read review that stated that they had a hard time getting their foot in without loosening the foot piece. I tried at home and no problems. Why would you want bindings with straps when there's this option, which spreads the pressure over a much greater surface, thus reducing pressure points?.?.

The Flow NX2-AT's are really well designed. The multiple pivot points to loosen the top of the strap really works well. My boots are a bit tight and I have to pull up on the highback to get them in but eventually they slip into place and are locked tight. One item that could be a PRO rather than a CON was the forward lean on the NX2's is pretty aggressive even when adjusted out. On my old Burtons I had to adjust them forward, I adjusted the NX2's to about mid and it was leaned out WAYYYY too far. Very responsive with no pressure points once properly adjusted (which is difficult because there is so many ways to adjust these bindings. . . you'll spend a full day on the hill just tweaking them). If Conan had to replace his two-handed sword with a snowboard and bindings. . . he would ride these bindings.

These are super comfortable. easy to adjust. may take a couple of runs down the hill to get them tweaked, but once done, mark the ladder straps with a sharpie, to set it back easy. The NASTY system fixes the loose feeling inbindings. when open it is easier to slide in. (you will have to angle boot in a bit since the heel area is too narrow for a slide). once in click it closed and you are set, these are really easy to adjust, and you can use like a traditional binding as well , by using the side straps, if in POW.
Compared to the other competitors, these are the easiest to get in and the best built. I have both of their competitors bindings as well.

Very comfortable and very smooth entry and exit. I have no pressure points and they're extremely responsive. The only complaint is weight which isn't that big of a deal overall. It's not like they're several extra pounds a piece, just not quite as light as the other guys.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Overall a very nice binding, very stiff, power strap doesn't pinch or cause pressure points, feels very secure when latched.
The instructions for mounting leave out all the adjustability that is built into the binding to get a great fit. You have to go online and watch the several videos to learn everything about how to set them up. (fore/aft adj, heel toe balance, tilt angle, high back adjt, etc)
When I first mounting the binding I was getting toe drag, (size 13 boots XL binding), after adjusting the binding and rotating the mounting plates I expect that to issue to go away. I wish the power strap opened up more when you drop the high back, I still have to adjust the straps to get in, that may improve with the adjustments, should find out this weekend.

Comments about Flow NX2-AT Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Took a few runs to get used to it. I'm coming from more traditional Union bindings. The stiffness and the heel entry were definitely something different. It's very easy to over-tighten these guys when you're not ratcheting steps across. Find your sweet spot and they become seamless.
