Comments about Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Bindings 2012:

For the 2011-2012 season, I demo'd 4 bindings. High price point - Union MC and Burton Diode. Mid-High price point - Union Atlas and Burton Cartel.

I am not biased to either products as I like them both. I happen to have owned both brands as well.

The Cartels are the best all around binding for the money. They were more comfortable than the Atlas. Burton ratchets are the cream of the crop. Glides smoother than any other binder out there. Along with the toe cap, they are just functionally superior to Union. I highly recommend the combination of an ICS board and an EST binding. The feel of the board is much better, this is not some gimmick.

These bindings are used by pros from just about every other company and there is a good reason for that.

Comments about Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Bindings 2012:

The high back is really too tall. If it is down and you are trying to skate around with your back foot in front of the board, your foot can hit the high back. Also if you try to go up on an edge while the high back is down, it can catch. Other than the high back being too high, it is a great binding. Very adjustable and durable.
