Probably the best binding on the market, IF you have a Burton board and the EST version. This binding was made for the EST system... and the RE:Flex design seems like just an afterthought. Toe and heel drag can only be slightly adjusted via the baseplate, and stance options are severely limited due to the design and flexibility of the baseplate (only moves in 1/2 inch increments). So, this binding is amazingly adjustable in EST, but unfortunately the RE:Flex version tells you what stance you'll be riding instead of you choosing your own.

Comments about Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings 2014:

What else can be said about this binding that hasn't already been said? I used to have a pair from 2007 and loved them. I'd demo'd everything else out there. I gave up on Union after my heelcup fell off for the 5th time, and won't support ski companies making snowboard gear. I rode the new Cartel with REFLEX this past winter and I don't think I'll ever ride another binding. At least until Burton redesigns the Cartel again.
The strap is comfy and minimalist, which I love! The buckles are smooth like butter! The Autocant footbeds are great! And ReFlex, wow! My binding flexes with my board. Terrain feedback is improved, ollie pop is better. Tech that makes sense that SNOWBOARDERS will appreciate!

Looks great, feels great and most importantly handles great! Locks in easily and holds snugly without pinching. I use these on a Rome Reverb Board with Burton Ambush boots and it works flawlessly. Couldnt be more happy.

Comments about Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I have used these bindings about 12 days now and they are great! I have them mounted on a Venture Zephyr, and ride in Burton Emerald (womens) size 7 boots.
It took some adjustment to get the bindings to fit (size 7 women's is the smallest size Burton lists as compatible with these bindings), but since there are multiple ways to adjust them I was able to work with them and end up with a custom fit.
Performance wise they are a relatively stiff binding and very responsive. They give great control - from trees and bumps to powder to speed. Super fun to ride!

Comments about Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings 2014:

Switched from metal bindings which were heavier. not sure I'll ever go back. Lightweight, durable easy enough to push the board edge to edge. Love loading the bindings up for rotations as the bindings have pretty good rotational flex. Very comfortable. Best ratchet system, it feels pretty secure without needing to over-tighten.

Earth and Sky color was definitely more baby blue than the internet picture. The internet picture looked slightly off white. Still a great color and did match my board. I'm hard on bindings and these hold up well for several seasons. Great responsive feel and comfortable.

Just got these last week, haven't taken them up to the mountain yet, but I am stoked to try them out. I have a pair of 2012 Cartels that I love to death, they last well, don't even really need replacing but I thought I'd treat myself to some new gear this year. Loved em so much I just got a new pair of the same. The Cartels are very adjustable, I've got no complaints about mounting like some people seem to have. Getting in and out is a breeze, they're incredibly light, durable, and easy to mount and adjust. Only surprise was that I was expecting them to be white, but they're actually a very light blue. It's a nice color, just looks white when you look at them online!

Comments about Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings 2014:

I had gotten a pair of these for my son and they worked out great for him. I had trouble with my bindings (another brand) and the latches would frequently stick. I was in between sizes for Burton women's bindings, but right in the middle for the men's, so I gave it a try and was immensely pleased. The latches hold tightly and never stick. They ratchet smoothly and do not need to be painfully tight to give fantastic hold to the boots. They have never popped open as other brands have done. They are also quite easy to adjust and install on the board.

I loved this binding when I got it and I tried it out for the first time in powder snow in Winter Park Colorado, which was great because I live in California. I only have two small concerns. The first is that the initial tightening of the straps was sometimes difficult, but this may vary from person to person depending on their boots. Also, the first day of snowboarding, I didn't tighten the boots all the way down, which caused some shifting and some bruising in my foot, so make sure to tighten these very much!

Took a week trip out to Park City with these bad boys, and got to use them in all mountain conditions. Had alot of fun to in the park, very comfortable.

Very responsive binding when free riding
New baseplates provide more board feel and flex for the binding. Took a couple runs to figure out they flex more now and it was not my screws loose

Simple binding with strong and comfortable straps. So far they have gone great with my GNU Riders Choice

I looked at few different binding set ups before going with the cartels but I'm glad I did! The cartels are light but extremely well designed! With the zero backs and adjustable gas pedal it has a feel good setting for everyone. Highly responsive which I love I'm more of an all mountain type rider and they are perfect for the woods backcountry trails and also the few times I swing through the park. They're mounted on the new neversummer cobra which I'm also glad I went with this year. I haven't found anything bad to say yet and I will more than likely be buying them again on my next set of bindings

New to snowboarding, but I'm picking it up quickly. The Cartel bindings were easy to install and tweaking the angle of foot splay was easy as well. They are responsive and the buckles/ratchets hold well.

At best this is a good binding. I don't know why everyone thinks they are the best. Think the high back has weak points at both sides of the FLAD. The fact that you can only mount to one set of holes on the board bothers me. Basically you can't adjust your stance width to whatever you want(re:flex). Not trying to bash them cause I do like them just a few complaints. Padding is great and like the autocant system. I just don't think I would get another set.

I've ridden handfuls of bindings in my lifetime, over several brands and several years, and the Burton Cartel is by far my favorite binding. With a newly redone highback style and short-glass baseplate these bindings give you the perfect all-mountain binding that does it all. I ride these in the park, the powder, cruddy soapy groomers and even in the backyard during summer rail sessions and they don't give up. Previously I have had problems with the ratchet coming loose or flipping to the open position while riding, but I think Burton finally nailed that one down. Bottom Line: if you are spending too much time looking for the right binding, just pull the credit card out and buy these to end the dispute
