Volkl Wall Skis 2010: The Volkl Wall is for the serious park rider who wants to be the best. With a fully symmetrical sidecut for switch riding, a full Sensorwood core for extra pop, and Power construction to bring you through those shaky landings, the Wall takes it to the top.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:Multi layer wood core with butter zones. The front of the ski is stiff; since the rocker design is pre-flexed, added stiffness in front provides stability. The flex in the mid-body of the ski is medium, providing a transition to the softer tail, which allows ease of turning on the groomed, and maneuverability in powder.
  • Construction:Power Construction: Völkl's longest-running construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup and provides tremendous grip, stability, and sensitivity. Tough Box: Constructed by wrapping the core with layers of fibreglass strands. Made up of numerous 4 X 4 wraps, and oriented at different angles, Tough Box increases the strength of the connection between ski binding and ski.
  • Shape:True twin with center mount, best for butters and jibs
  • Binding Compatibility:Requires bindings with brakes of 90mm

Comments about Volkl Wall Skis 2010:

Volkl does it again. I have always been a huge fan of Volkl because of their stiffness as well as their immaculate construction. These skis are no different. They are a bit softer than the Karmas I was replacing them with but they are every bit as fun. They are able to rip turns all mountain with ease in all but the iciest of conditions. They have great pop and ski very well switch due to their symmetrical design. I have not really ventured into the park yet on them but I would imagine due to their design and construction they would be a pretty bomber park ski.

All i can say is wow! These ski's killed everything from the park to all mountain. These ski's have so much pop and spinning is easy. Also a great ski for rails. If you love to ski park, but also want a good all mountain ski the wall is for you. They are a bit spendy but your going to find out that it was worth the purchase.

Comments about Volkl Wall Skis 2010:

I got these skis in the 177 length. I was looking for a fun all-around ski (I don't go in the park) and this does the trick. They are very, very light (especially with the Marker Squire bindings) and are quick in the bumps. I've found that the skis catch on each other a little bit in the tails when in the bumps, but nothing serious. Because the skis are soft, they do really well in crud. They don't spear through it like my dynastar legends, but float and bend over the crud.
For carving, the skis handle well for being so light and twin tipped. They aren't too steady at high speeds, but have moderatly quick carves at medium speed. For skid turns they have great bite and are very quick, due in part to the classic volkl edges.
I can't say if these have good float because I live in the East, but they have decent width (88) and are enough to get you by on the rare New England powder days.
My only complaint is that the topsheets do get rough on the inside when in the bumps a lot, but there are no big chips. Just some peels from the edge of the other ski.

If you're looking for a fun all-mountain ski, this is it. They do just about anything, and of all the twin tips I've seen they have clean graphics on the top sheets that don't make you look like you stole them from a park rat.
Once again, great twin-tip for the all-mountain skier.
