  • Motion iPT (internal Power Transmission)—The go-to iPT with Piston Performance, this system combines ease of ski flex with the ultimate power and sensitivity available in any ski/binding system. Engineers built the binding interface INTO the ski body, then created a system that slides into position on the ski. Inside the ski, the interface creates the most rigid connection of any Motion system to date, resulting in better performance in any snow condition. The sides of the interface rest directly on top of the chambers of the Extended Double Grip Construction, for direct energy transfer.

  • Piston Control—Top-end Motion iPT systems feature Marker’s signature Piston Control. The piston unit is attached to the ski in front of the binding. This piston arm is integrated with the Motion interface and attaches under the toe piece. The piston improves high-speed vibration control by quieting the ski’s counter-flex at turn exit, readying it for the next turn.
  • Extended Double Grip Construction — In Volkl’s signature, most efficient construction, Extended Double Grip, dual chambers extend from tip to tail, providing more support for the edges, and enabling the ideal distribution of pressure to the snow.
  • Extended Sensorwood Core — Created in a complex CNC milling process, the core is extended upward lengthwise, milled to form the chamber of the Extended Double Grip Construction. Found in Volkl’s highest performing models.

      Profile: I purchased the 184's. I'm 6'4" and 195 pounds and ski aggressively. I spend most of my time on marked trails. Mammoth Chairs 22 & 23

      Comments: Skied these guys all winter this season and most recently at mammoth this past weekend. They perform perfectly in the crud and down the chutes and they're absolutely spectacular on the groomers. Haven't taken them into any real pow yet.

      The ski really likes to be ridden hard and fast. They've got great pop and transition from turn to turn better than any ski I've ever owned or demo'ed. If you're a good skier are looking for a ski that does everything well. . . you've found it in the AC 40

      I was sent 184 AC 30's by accident. Evo fixed the mistake immediately and delivered the correct skis to my door THE NEXT DAY! That's how you run a business, well done and thank you!

        Piston unit holes should be pre-drilled. Don't understand why they aren't. They should come with a front binding cap if you don't want to install the pistons. These are minor issues. Ski is really nice.

          Moving from a park twin tip to a midfat that everyone claimed would be to powerful for me, I was a bit timid when I bought the skis. I am a 121 pound, 14 year old who thought that this ski would over power me, but when I got on them and started to steer them I was in control every run of the day! It was amazing, it had amazing grip on the ice, no chatter whatsoever when straight lined and was amazing in the bumps and trees! I would recommend these skis to anyone, regardless of age or weight. If you are a confident and powerful skier than these are the skis that you want to be on.

              There are not enough good things I can say about this ski. Ive used the 30's and 40's and doing a lot of backcountry and tree skiing, i could not live without these things. They grip like all get out no matter what the conditions. They just don't give up. They have become my main pair of skis for the weekend outings. Saved me in some pretty tough spots many times.
