The Volkl Sumo Alpine ski is the answer to the deepest of powder days. Boasting a 125mm waist and 150mm tip, the Volkl Sumo’s curvaceous design ensures the most velvety of turns in the fluffiest of deeps. The Sumo’s indestructable titanal construction and wood core stands more solid than a concrete wall while floating atop the powder like Jesus walking on water. The Volk Sumo’s are so chubby even Fat Albert could ride the fresh stuff like a pro.

    Comments about Volkl Sumo Skis 2007:

    Purchased with powder in mind (of course) but also with the knowledge that not everyday is a powder day. These skis has been very surprising on the days between storms. Lower legs can get fatigued arcing turns on groomers all day long,(certainly not the designers idea of an average day on these boards, other than that, well...I have skied my Sumo's in a very wide variety of conditions and terrain and have really found their performance in the gully's, gulches, trees, steeps and the like to be almost exceptional, even sans the deep pow. High speed stability is great and my favorite unforeseen perk is a significantly lower impact on the body throughout a day on the mountain. Simple physics I suppose. Maybe not the only ski in ones quiver...but a pair that is destined not to be left home awaiting just the deepest of pow.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
